1968 Plymouth GTX Additional Info:

Only 1,026 GTX convertibles made total in 1968. This one is nicely restored.
EXTERIOR: The body is in excellent shape- straight and smooth. I don't see any bubbling. The metal flake is laid out evenly, the clear coat is polished smooth and glossy. It it deep looking. There are a few minor flaws I didn't even see until I inspected the car. The door jambs are clean and painted glossy. Weatherstrips are good. The satin black stripes on the hood are painted on. The 15 inch Magnum 500 wheels are new and are extra wide. They have some really meaty Goodyear tires on them. The power convertible top looks real nice, has correct Mopar grain. The pads on the underside are disintegrating. In front it has a nice original grill showing minor patina, the bumper looks new. Chrome turn signal indicators and top of the fenders have been rechromed, wheel well moldings look new. The vent window pillars, mirror and handles are real nice original with some freckles. In back the bumper looks rechromed, the tail panel is in excellent shape.
INTERIOR: New upholstery on the seats and they're nice and poofy with good cushions. It also has a brand new console and shifter. The lights and shift indicator have not been purchased for the console. The carpet is new. I'm looking at an exceptionally clean dash area. The gauges, lenses, wood grain, soft trim are excellent. It does have a factory am 8-track radio and a factory tachometer. There is an aftermarket temp gauge down below the dash. It has a new custom tilt column with the factory steering wheel. Door panels are in real good shape. The window cranks, handles, dash knobs are all in good original condition. Interior light on the dash works.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The original fender tag is still attached and the # on the core support matches it. Features include power steering and brakes. Overall it looks real nice when I opened the hood. The engine bay metal is real clean and straight, I don't see any signs of damage or rust. It's all painted glossy, including under the hood. The engine itself has been painted up nicely. The air cleaner was restored. It has Mopar hoses and clamps, the shroud is proper. It is upgraded with headers. The washer bottle is hooked up. Steering linkage going into the steering gear box is new.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is actually very nice in the trunk. I'm assuming the trunk floor is new because it looks pristine, but they must have put it in it factory seams. The quarter panels look to be original, I don't see any cuts or splices. The whole inside of the trunk, the jamb and under the trunk lid are painted green with a clear coat finish. The rubber mat, the weather strip, stickers are new. The jack is restored. It has a new Magnum wheel and a brand new BF Goodrich tire. The tail light housings, latches and wiring is tidy.
UNDERSIDE: The front end components look brand new- balljoints, bushings, shocks, swaybar links etc. In back the leaf springs are good, shocks look new. Brakes were redone, chases and rear brake lines were replaced. E-brake cables are hooked up. Bottom of the motor is clean. Has 727 Torqueflite auto trans. 3.23 gears in the rear end. Stainless pipes with crossover attach to Flowmaster mufflers, has correct tips in back. Fuel tank and sending unit were replaced. Overall solid floors and frame rails.
