1963 Plymouth Fury Max Wedge Additional Info:
Super clean Max Wedge convertible tribute. We have a receipt for $7,965 for a recent, complete engine and trans rebuild.
Overall very clean, unabused car.
EXTERIOR: Factory red car. I'm going to say the body's exceptional. It appears to be really dry, clean metal. It is straight, the panels fit really square and flush. The rear wheel well lips are clean with the factory spot welds, no bubbles. The red paint is polished smooth and glossy. Overall the trim is very good. The bumpers have been rechromed. 15 inch Cragars are wider in back with beefier tires for a muscle car look. Power white convertible top is in excellent condition.
INTERIOR: I really like the white and gray upholstery. Claimed to be original. The cushions are still firm. 2 tone upholstery has silver chrome piping. Door panels are real good, one rear panel is a little rippled. The carpets have been replaced. The dash area is really nice. It does have the very cool push button transmission. All the trim, knobs, gauges are clean. Has seatbelts in front, interior lights work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Totaly rebuilt. New custom made pistons and rods, new cam, lifters, bearings, oil pump etc. Rebuilt heads, hardened seats, new guides, valves and springs. Both 4 barrel carbs were rebuilt. This car runs strong! They did a great job. It has a healthy idle, doesn't hesitate when you gas it. It has an external vacuum pump because of the performance cam. All stock manifolds, air cleaners and Super Stock ll sticker. The motor components were painted. The engine bay is perfectly clean metal, no signs of rust or damage. Painted a nice glossy red. The original fender tag is still attached. It does have power steering and a brand new power brake system. All the wiring is run neatly. The radiator, shroud and fan look proper. Alternator looks clean, it even has the washer bag and squirters are hooked up.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Big and solid. The trunk light works. It has a jack and spare. The original drum brakes and hubcaps are included. Bottom of the trunk lid looks like it's the original red paint in really nice shape, weatherstrip is good.
UNDERSIDE: It is rock solid underneath. Clean floors, frame rails, inner panels. It has been undercoated. The bottom of the motor is still clean and fresh. The 727 Torqueflite transmission was just rebuilt. Front end has new components. It has air shocks in the back. Brakes were redone and upfront has disc conversion. E-brake is hooked up.
I believe this has been a clean car all of its life. It is not abused. The motor runs strong, I cant wait to try it out. The Max Wedge was a production car but it said right in the manual it is intended for racing. This is a real muscle car!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
