Beautifully Maintained 1970 Plymouth GTX Hardtop
New to our Pleasanton showroom is this highly impressive 1970 Plymouth GTX "Super Commando 440" 2 Door Hardtop with Ivy Green Metallic exterior paint, gold pin stripes and a beautiful white vinyl interior. You’ll find a 440... cid V-8 engine under the hood with the numbers-matching automatic transmission with a pistol grip shifter, plus air conditioning, upgraded five star alloy wheels, a period correct radio and so much more. This highly original classic muscle car is in excellent shape as well and it ready to be enjoyed right away.
Highly Original w/ Excellent Lifetime Documentation
The current owner of this 1970 Plymouth GTX 2 Door Hardtop took possession back in 2004 as the 3rd lifetime owner and he informs us that he has ample documentation going back decades to show that this lifetime Northern California muscle car has always been cared for properly. He believes that the drivetrain is 100% factory correct- while we can’t certify that statement, we see nothing under the hood to make us believe otherwise. In fact, everything about this classic looks correct down to the badging, cowl tags and instructional decals. It’s simply a super clean survivor that’s been held to the highest possible standards over the years.
In terms of its present condition, this 1970 Plymouth GTX Hardtop is simply gorgeous with a laser straight body, excellent paint and glimmering chrome work and trim. Unfortunately, there is some damage to the rear right quarter panel from an accident with a hand-jack at the owner's residence- the owner received an estimate of $2,500 to repair this issue and that's reflected in the rock bottom asking price. Everything else about this classic is breathtaking though- the engine compartment is one of the cleanest you’ll see this year and the immaculate white interior really stands out.
Out on the open road, this '70 GTX drives almost like a brand new classic vehicle with smooth acceleration, excellent handling and a simply awesome feel to the suspension. The odometer shows 1,254 miles and although we do not think that's the actual lifetime mileage, this powerful muscle car performs as nicely as any example we've come across in recent years- even those fresh off a full restoration. It's incredible how clean and well cared for this example is in person- someone's going to absolutely fall in love with this vehicle.
One of the Nicest Examples You’ll See This Year
Overall, this 1970 Plymouth GTX 2 Door Hardtop is an outstanding classic muscle car that’s highly original and very nicely documented. Given its outstanding overall condition and growing collectability, now is an excellent time to add such a desirable classic muscle car to your collection. It will not remain available for long!
