1966 Plymouth Fury Additional Info:
For sale is a 1966 Plymouth Fury III (bright red paint with black vinyl top and black vinyl bench seats). The body and interior were professionally restored in 2011 (see photo's for invoice of work performed). The drive train is stock with a 318-2V "Poly" engine w/2 barrel carburetor (factory rated at 230 hp/340 lb ft torque with 9.0:1 compression), TorqueFlight automatic transmission with column shift and dual exhaust. The car starts, runs and shifts great with no excess noise, vibration, smoke or oil usage. The car sits on American Racing aluminum wheels with BFG radial tires with very good tread. The trunk mounted spare matches the other 4 tires/wheels and has never been used. I purchased this car from my sister-in-law who commissioned the restoration work in Hackettstown, NJ. The car was not driven very much since the restoration, so I had the car professionally transported to NC and I have since had all of the fluids changed (oil & filter, coolant, & transmission fluid) fuel lines & fuel filter replaced, as well as a new battery and alternator installed by my mechanic here in NC. I had him give the car a thorough safety inspection as well, including the drum brakes all around. I have been driving the car ever since and it's a sweetheart. Aside from the wheels and tires, a lower dash mounted CD player and trunk mounted multi-CD changer, the rest of the care is pretty much stock appearing. All of the trim, badges, bright-work and bumpers look great. The dash is perfect and all of the gauges work properly. I also have the car's original Chrysler Corporation Certicard, which is located in the engine compartment for 1966 models (see photo). The drive train (318/Auto) matches the VIN/Certicard. The car is listed/shown locally and I reserve the right to end this auction listing at any time for a non-eBay/local sale. Good luck and happy bidding.
