1967 Plymouth Belvedere Additional Info:
This is a very solid Georgia project car ....1967 Plymouth Belvedere convertible. It came factory with a 318 2 barrel engine and unusual / rare 3 speed manual on the column....8-3/4" rear end. The color was originally medium blue metallic with a black top and black bench seat. The car was re-painted white many years ago....common practice in the south for dark color cars....yuck! It does appear to have been repainted only once.
The body is very solid. I have found no evidence of collision damage or body filler anywhere. It will need patches to the lower quarters....right is a little worse than left, small repairs to the doors, small patches to the trunk gutters, left top drain channel repair and some floor repair. The trunk floor is very nice. The interior floor has been patched and could be repaired with a patch to the right side but I would recommend a full floor replacement if you are restoring the car.The hood and deck / trunk lid are nice. The firewall, inner fenders and frame rails / crossmembers are nice with no visible rot. The bumpers are good for cores. The grille and headlight bezels are decent and are good to restore. The rear finish panel is nice. The taillights are fair...need new lenses....pitting to chrome. The front parking light lenses are missing. It is missing the fender and quarter mouldings on the right side, antenna and the hood ornament. The glass is all in good condition...windshield could probably be replaced. The door hinges and hood hinges are in great shape...no sag.
The convertible specific parts are in good condition...top frame is decent with some minor to moderate rust...no major rot. The windshield frame, mouldings and visors are all good to restore. The top works fine...I replaced the lines and purchased a new latch for the right side. The top material is OK for a driver....it was replaced years ago...one small puncture and some cat scratches to the rear window.
The interior is OK. The seats were recovered years ago and are OK for a driver. The dash pad is decent and would be OK for a driver as well. The steering wheel is very nice with no cracks....not sure if it is original? The front panels and armrests will need to be replaced. The rear interior panels have some cracks and missing pieces.....they could be restored or replaced. The lights appear to work...wiper motor works but will need to be rebuilt....park does not function. The heater ...duct work etc and cluster appear to good ones to restore.
The drivetrain is complete and functional.....does not leak a drop. The engine is NOT original....it was apparently replaced years ago with a 1989 318 with '302' heads. I installed a new timing chain, water pump, head gaskets, NOS Carter BBD carburetor, Pertronix electronic conversion, new aluminum radiator, starter, battery, throttle cable etc. It has an older dual exhaust with cherry bomb mufflers. The engine runs OK but does have a slight knock in the lower end at times and then goes away....could probably be fixed with a rod bearing? The transmission and clutch are OK....shifts into all gears. The car also has a new gas tank and sending unit.
I will include a standard bore 1972 340 block that would be a great addition to the car or I will deduct $200 from the sale price if the new owner does not want it.
The tires and wheels are OK...I believe the wheels are original 14" painted Magnums. The tires are new and have never seen the road but have dry rot and will need to be changed. The trim rings are not matching.
I replaced the front brake lines so now it does have brakes...master cylinder works fine....the rear hose will need to be changed at the least to get the rear brakes functional. The bottom line is that this is a very solid start....nothing hiding. This would be quick fix for a driver or would be a relatively easy restoration. Please remember that this is a project and being sold as such...it is NOT roadworthy at this point! It does "yard" drive ....I have not driven it on the road nor should you in this condition! I hope that I covered everything but may have omitted some minor aspects....I always try my best to represent vehicles and parts to the best of my ability.
The car will be sold with a transferable Georgia registration and bill of sale. This should be adequate for you to secure a registration in Georgia or a title in any other state. I will require a Paypal deposit of $500 and balance paid in cash at pick-up.
Buyer arranges pick-up or delivery. Delivery in November to the Mopars with Big Daddy or Daytona possible.
