1950 Plymouth Deluxe Sedan Meticulous, Extensive Records Totally Original, 67k Actual Miles Only 2 Owners Since New Original 218ci Flathead 6 / 3spd Manual Runs & Drives VIN: 15424625 Engine: P20 427I50 (Original 218ci Flathead 6) We purchased this ‘50 Deluxe from a local couple who had purchased the car from the original owner some years ago, a gentleman who kept some of the most meticulous records we’ve ever seen. The car will come with many service receipts from the mid-50s through mid-80s, as well as... detailed handwritten notes of mileage increments and dates from when each fluid was changed and each service was performed. As it sits, this is a phenomenally original (even the paint!) example in need of some body restoration. It does run/drive/stop quite well at the moment, but there is significant rust in the sills that should be tended to. As you will note from the underbody photos, the frame is nice and solid; the sills are what is most prevalent and concerning. Exterior: - Please take a good look through the photos, as the car is documented in detail. - Body panels are free of any significant dents or dings. - Original chrome is well-presented throughout, with minimal oxidation. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. - Steel wheels show some oxidation, chrome hubcaps are in nice shape. Tires are very old and should be replaced. - Panel fitment is spot on, doors open and close nicely. Interior: - Again, please defer to the photos. - Original front and rear seats show no damage, though there are some water stains and the interior does smell fairly musty. - Wooden dash is in nice shape, with no damage. Interior chrome does not show any oxidation and would clean up nicely. - Gauges are functional and the odometer reading of 67,387 is accurate based on known history and tremendously detailed mileage increments over the years. - Lights and signals are functional. Radio/fan aren’t. Under the Hood / Underbody: - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. The underbody is in impressive shape considering the state of the body. Frame rails are nice and solid, floors are good with the exception of a spot of through rust on the passenger forward corner. - Original drivetrain, engine number P20 427I50, a 218ci Flathead 6. The car is turn-key; it starts right up, idles cool and steady, and doesn’t stutter under acceleration. The brakes are effective and the car tracks straight under both acceleration and braking. Due to the old tires and musty interior, we would still consider this a project car rather than a ready driver.
