1955 Plymouth Belvedere Additional Info:

With its bright exterior, custom A/C interior, and a fuel-injected V8 under the hood, this 1955 Plymouth Belvedere is an amazing custom build that's worthy of (and already won a few) awards. But what's most impressive is that it's all available right now for quite a nice price.
1955 was a great year to be a Mopar fan. Plymouth debuted one of its most radical styles to date. Virgil Exner brought in a sweeping design that looked fast standing still. The tapered angle of the front; the way the rounded fender top seemed to stretch from headlight to tailfin; and the smooth flow of the trunk all gave this a look that made Chevys and Fords jealous. So that's why it's a great place to start with a custom build. An orange and cream two-tone is a great '50 color combo, but the metallic glow this one has instantly signifies an investment in a modern application. And this range-toping Belvedere really knew how to separate the two colors with unique trim lines that highlighted the sporty coupe and pillarless hardtop profile. Speaking of this trim, you can tell there was a ton invested in all these intricate pieces, as well as the angular chrome bumpers to create a shining total package. While the body does a good job of holding to period-correct standards, the large 17-inch Body Coddington wheels are a nice hint to let everyone know there's a lot more custom work beneath the skin.
Inside, this one merges vintage and new worlds together nicely. For example, the front bench still follows the unique pattern with the split on the passenger side. But now the '50s vinyl has been replaced by supple leather. It even has custom embroidery on the seat backs. This was Plymouth's full-sized coupe, and there's plenty of room for family and friends. So you'll be glad you can keep them all comfortable with features like air conditioning, an AM/FM/CD stereo, a provisions for power windows. But this Plymouth is fine for solo cruising, too, because the best treats are reserved just for you. The chrome steering wheel is mounted on a Flaming River tilt column, and it has the grip wrapped to match the seat leather. Though the original gauge package is great to see, the large tach mounted below the dash reminds you there's something special under the hood.
The engine bay looks aggressive with the bright fan shroud and custom flame-kissed cover radiating from within the darkness. Beneath the orange and polished components lies a modern heart. This might be a '55 Plymouth, but it has borrowed the 5.9-liter fuel-injected Magnum V8 utilized from an early 2000s Dodge. So while plenty of restomods from the Big Three get Chevy power, you get to proudly showcase an all-Mopar machine. More importantly, this Magnum motor was known for being built in the grand tradition of stout Chrysler engines, and at the same time, it offers the kind of smoothness we demand from today's cars. To keep this cruising attitude at its best, you even have front disc brakes, power steering, sway bard front & rear, and a four-speed automatic transmission w/highway-friendly overdrive. There's even a new four core radiator installed within the last year to ensure that this cool custom remains running cool.
The sale comes complete with restoration photos, a CD with documentation, and a copy of the August 2009 Mopar Action magazine featuring this car. This is the total custom build that is out to impress. So while you would expect to pay a lot more, if you're quick enough, you can take home this stellar deal. Call now!
