Up for bid is my 1967 Plymouth Belvedere GTX, #'s matching. They only made 12,001 Belvedere GTX's in 1967. (RS23L77197823)
Car is in excellent condition especially for the year. I purchased this car in Southwest Texas and brought it back to Illinois where it has been in a heated barn for 12 years then moved to another barn 3 years ago when I moved. I started working on it (that's why it has multiple colors), but I have way too many projects I started all at once. Decided to start selling some of them if the price is right.
Straight body with very minor rust, just a few minor rusted areas on the 2 back rear quarter panels. Floor pans, trunk, engine compartment, firewall are all basically rust free, maybe some mild surface rust. There is a hole that someone cut in the firewall next to the master cylinder that I have no idea why they did it, but it is not rusted. Rear quarter panels on both sides have minor rust (easily fixed without replacing. See pictures.). Hard to find one this old in this great of shape. Odometer reads 06603.4 miles. Don't know if it's correct. Doesn't look like it rolled over. (See picture) The original dash that came with it has 5 holes cut in it, I guess for police radio's. (I do have another regular dash without the extra holes that goes with it.)** Has two antennas above trunk with an AM antenna on the front fender. The driver side bottom door hinge was broken, but have a brand new replacement that goes with it. It is missing the original drive shaft, the original 440 (gone when I got the car) and the original bumper jack. I DO have the original transmission, radiator, AM radio, cross member, tach, seats (need recovered), door panels (need recovered). The floor pans have no rust on them, the sound detonator is still on them. The only other things it needs for completion is a windshield (cracked) and a right side passenger side rear window (some kid with a BB gun broke it out). Everything is #'s matching.
**After I bought it while living in Texas, someone stopped by while it was still on the trailer and asked me where I found this car. He was excited and told me it looked like it was the Texas Ranger chase car that use to come thru town when he was a teenager. I've never been sure if he was just telling a tall tale or if it is a real Texas Ranger car. I just wanted a 1967 GTX like I used to have when I was younger. If someone were interested in pursuing this angle, I imagine they could do a title search and find out for sure. I'm not guaranteeing it is, but who knows. Just passing along information. But if this is an ex-Texas chase car, then it's very, very rare.
I have $3000.00 in new parts in the trunk. Some of these I purchased extra:
extra hood
extra dash
new trunk finish panel (Year One)
new tail lights (Year One)
new chrome tail light covers (Year One)
new reverse lenses (Year One)
left side bottom door hinge
From what I found out about when it was originally ordered is the following (not all items are currently on car- see pictures):
Special ordered from St Louis, Missouri.
Color AA1 (Napa said you couldn't get that color of Silver that year)
Ordered with a 6 inch Ocean Blue Stripe, that went around the trunk... like the R/T's and Super Bee's.
14 inch Magnum 500's
DANA 60 323 pos
Bucket seats
Deluxe black western scroll interior
727 torque flight AT on floor
440 police interceptor
Tach on console
Red line BF Goodrich, F70/14 tires
A/C car
NO Power steering.
11X2.1/2 drum brakes
AM radio
120 MPH speed odometer
Black vinyl top
There are 3 other #'s on the vin tag. No one I have talked to could find out what other options they stand for. There is also a number on the radiator support that the guy I bought it off of said someone tried cutting it off twice. (see picture). I couldn't find out what it stands for either.
Will make one beautiful car when finished. Please feel free to ask me anything, I'll try to help as best I can. If you want more pictures or pictures of specific areas of the vehicle, contact me thru eBay and I can send them to you the same day. I have a ton of them (interior and more exterior) but eBay only lets you post 24 unless you're a dealer. Anyway, it's not hurting anything sitting in my barn, so I'm not taking any low ball offers. I'll finish it myself first rather than giving it away. If you want you can come see it in person if you wish to look it over before you bid.
This is a great project car.
Bid to win.
GOOD LUCK
Would prefer wire transfer
On Jan-30-18 at 14:30:47 PST, seller added the following information:
Need to clarify something about the rear end. It has been brought to my attention that the rear end is not a Dana 60 as I was told. It is the 8-3/4 but I am not sure if it is a sure grip or not. The casting # on the side says 2070742. I will try to find out and update as soon as I find out.
