1963 Plymouth Fury sport fury Additional Info:
My goal on this car was to retain all the style of the 63 Sport Fury but up grade the suspension, brakes, steering and handling along with good street manners and lots of performance ( Mission Accomplished ).I started this project with a mostly rust free California car, It had leaked water around back window and they had replaced the trunk floor. All the floors, cowles, quarter panels and fenders were rust free as shown in the pictures.I had the car soda blasted down to bare metal while on a rotisserie did the body work required and used all PPG base coat clear coat in original white. The car already had legendary seats and door panels when I purchased it but I pulled every thing out and started back with Dyna Mat and went over it with thick insulation and then the carpet. I had dashes only rebuild all the padded dash and purchased autometer custom Mopar GPS speedometer Tach, fuel, oil pressure, water temp, transmission temp gauges.I installed the largest heat and air unit that Vintage air offered. The engine is one of my builds (50 years of experience building Mopar engines) with the target of have a decent idle and street manners, running on pump gas. The engine came out excellent with more horse power than expected 626 HP@6100 RPM and 629 torque @4500 RPM and with the FiTech fuel injection runs out well. The transmission was built by TCI and is there street fighter transmission and will shift automatic or manually and has there 3400 stall street fighter converter. It has a B&M ratchet shifter. The drive shaft is a custom built shaft with the largest U joints that could be used. The rear end is a 8 3/4 posi in either a 3.23 or a 4.10 ratio This is my first build with a Borgeson power steering box and I am very pleased with it.It has a faster ratio than factory boxes and more road feel. I used CVF serpentine belt system with there 1 wire 100 amp alternator power steering pump and AC compressor. At this time there is 275 miles on car since finished. I have well over $10.000 in the engine. We will consider trades. Thanks for looking Jim Ballenger ( Ballenger Power on face book )
