1957 Plymouth Other Additional Info:
True "Barn Find" was put away in 1987 owner planned on putting a big block in it. They had taken the exhaust off and started disconnecting things and never finished because the guy helping him stopped helping. Owner said he didn't have the knowledge to finish it. Radiator has been boiled out new water pump, full tuneup, gas tank cleaned out, new fuel pump, rebuilt carb, new exhaust, new tires, new rear shocks, new front disc brakes, new dual reservoir master cylinder, new idler arm, ball joint, strut rod bushings, and front end alignment. New carpet otherwise the interior is all original, radio works, all dash lights work, steering wheel is perfect other than the white is not as bright as new, dash pad needs new padding, it's a little wrinkled but not cracked, I think new padding underneath will fix it. The stitching has started to come apart on the front seat and will need restitched that just happened recently there is a picture of it.. I have put about 800 miles on it this summer taking it to car shows and cruising. It won a second place trophy in the un-restored class. One trip was about an hour and a half away no issues. Everything works however the gas gauge sometimes won't read right away but will start working after driving a bit; may have sticky sender or loose wire? I have included video that I believe represents the car almost as good as seeing it in person. This car is a good driver; obviously will need restored to be like new again. I will be letting the auction run until the end so please don't ask my reserve and if I will stop the auction so you can buy it. Bid to win if you need to get permission to buy the car do that before you bid. If you are seriously looking at this car you already know how hard it is to find this vintage in this condition. Usually they are rust buckets or all restored and unaffordable. I understand this car will not command the price of a hardtop however you can have a very nice driver with a paint job and rechrome the bumpers. I have spent considerable time and money to get her back on the road and regret having to sell her but I have to many cars. I would hope she goes to someone who will continue to fix her up and drive her. The cool thing is almost anywhere you go there are very rarely any finned Chrysler products; she gets a lot of thumbs up and looks when she is out! Payment will be through Pay Pal. An e-bayer sent a message that, when I replied, came back undeliverable. The question was does it have power steering an brakes? Does it leak or use oil. The answer is no to all.
