Up for your consideration is Fine example of a 1972 Plymouth Duster. This is rather a unique car. I put this together the way I wanted it be. We started with a California High Desert car. No body rust. We also found No body filler anywhere in the car. Could find no signs of any type of collision. Nothing more that the usual parking marks along the side panals. To clean up the appearence, we removed the side markers and welded in steel for the clean look. We added a gas fill cap from a 1968 Dodge Charger. Since it's a side fill, it looks natural. The original paint was F7 Green. We went with F8, just a shade darker. I think it's a better look for the car. New Chromefront and rear bumpers and bolts were also added as were 1970 Cuda exhaust tips for that Great Muscle car look. A set of new fender mounted turn indicators were put in to replace the old ones. We replaced most all the front and rear suspension. New rear Super Stock leaf springs to hold the A-Body 8 3/4 axle with 489 carrier and 3.23 gears . New shocks were added front and rear. Just to ad, the glass in the car is great, and the doors open and close as if the car was NEW.
Fresh front suspension included. Bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. We installed a new interior. i.e. Recovered the seats with top of line material., installed new carpet and dash. The door panals and headliner are almost perfect. The car has an AM FM radio that sounds great. The car has Power steering and Power assist front disc brakes. Also added was a new Power brake booster and master cylinder. This car left the factory with a 318 V8. It was replaced with another, slightly modified 318 This engine was removed from a 1969 Dodge Charger (The Charger ended up getting a built 440 ). The 318 engine and trans from the Charger were rebuilt about 20K miles ago and run Great. A Edelbrock 600 cfm 4bbl. carb and Weiand aluminum intake were added along with Dual exhaust. For a 318, this car really scoots!! The cooling system was upgraded to a 26 inch 3 row radiator normally used in a B-Body car with air. NO cooling problems here! We installed a new alternator just to be on the safe side. And the usual new belts and hoses. As for the wheels and tires. I had Wheels Vintique build 2 15X8 inch rear steel wheels. to hold 275-60 X15 inch tires. The fronts are 225-70X14. We added Plymouth Division Dog Dish stylehub caps to look period correct. What a Great look for this car. What a fun car to drive.!! At a later date I aquirred a 1969 Dodge 340 engine. I went through the complete engine. New everything. From the carb to the oil pan. Forged pistons, upgraded ( J ) heads with all stainless valves. New oil pump, fuel pump, water pump. New cam, lifters, timing set. (It even includes the HP exhaust manifolds. )All the good stuff. This engine will be offered with the car, if you desire, at an additonal cost. The Trunk was almost perfect. Rather than paint it the car color, I had it Rhino lined and is Water Proof. I think it looks Great . I have priced this car at 15 K. Well over 17 K was spend in it's restoration. That's a Super deal for this car. Now for the Optional part. If you choose to purchase the car with the 340 Engine, Just ad 6 thousand dollars. That is what I have in the engine. It will be shipped to you separate from the car at NO charge. That would make the total 21K Here is a shot at best of both worlds. Thanks for looking
