1969 Plymouth Other GTX Additional Info:
Posting for a good friend his beautiful 1969 Plymouth GTX ~ This car is a very nice driver! Real L code 440 HP magnum V8, 375+ hp V8, Factory 4 speed car, now has 727 Torqueflight automatic transmission with B&M Quick Shift for quicker shifts, the original 4 speed pedals are still in the car and attached, if you wanted to convert it back. Beautiful Blue Paint, I think it is B7 Blue but I could be wrong, car had a repaint around 12 years ago, right before Frank purchased it. Since owning it around the last 12+ years, it has always been garaged every day since, only getting driven on those nice days, as a cruiser. Never driven in the rain, but the wipers work just in case. All lights work, car just passed Missouri state safety inspection for 2017. Mileage showing is 34k. Previous owner claims mileage is original, and after looking at the undercarriage and interior, it could be true, but I have no documentation on actual mileage. That being said, even if its 139k miles, the motor and transmission have both been replaced and rebuilt since, and 139k is still a low mile car for a 47 year old vehicle!
Very solid car, NO RUST, very nice body. Nice BLACK interior... I believe the seats, carpet, etc are original, seats are all in great shape, also comes with the original BUDDY SEAT that sits between the front buckets, so you can bring another buddy along! (not pictured) Car has options like power steering, power front disc brakes, rear window defogger, original blue car from the factory. This car looks like a show car from 25 feet away, but you get up close and you can see its been driven, and has some age/ patina to it. Headliner could use some attention by the rear window area. All windows go up and down fine. All interior and exterior lights work, including the factory fender mounted bullet signal indicators. This car is a reliable turn key muscle car! I get thumbs up and people telling me they LOVE my car EVERY DAY I DRIVE IT... Its a real head turner... Lookin' good on era-correct Keystone Mags with white-letter tires, vintage GT GRANT speed wheel, vintage B&M Quick Silver Shifter! Factory Chrysler Solid State radio still in dash, also have a Pioneer CD MP3 player nicely installed under dash, its a nice head unit with DOT-MATRIX moving display. This car sounds SO DAMN GOOD with the big block rumbling through the duel exhaust, you might not care about the radio.
This is not a 100 point Pebble Beach trailered show car, but its not $60k-$85k either! Its priced in the driver price range. It is ready to get in and drive! It "needs" nothing, ready to drive and enjoy now... However, if your picky and OCD like me, there is some minor things you will want to spend a little time on to make nicer. The Paint is already nice, there are a few little blemishes or scuffs here or there, and normal wear for a paint job of this age. I noticed a small bump on the hood where the air cleaner prop rod has bumped the bottom of the hood, from from not being spun all the way down the carb after a rebuild. The front grill is original, nice original argent paint with red stripes. The rear chrome GTX trunk panel has pitting on it, as its a 47 year old, unrestored factory part. Starts good, Idles nice, goes down the road good, runs on the highway good, turns, brakes, stops good... Just passed Missouri safety inspection. Completely new front disc brake setup with new brake booster & master cylinder, professionally installed. Just had carb rebuilt (Holley 600cfm), new gas tank, newer back half of exhaust, new tires. I'm sure you could find something here or there to improve upon, but its a nice looker as it is, and it drives great! If your a serious buyer, it would be best to view the car in person, as with any car purchase.
This car has been a true American Muscle Car from the day it was built and left the factory in 1969. This is not a clone car or tribute car, this is the real deal. Born with the legendary 375+hp 440 magnum V8, 18-spline hemi 4 speed transmission, and bullet-proof Dana 60! Current motor is a correct 440 HP Magnum engine with the popular 1967 casting 440 HP (with best flowing heads made that year), shifted threw a 727 Torqueflite Automatic transmission with floor shift, and a 3:23 Sure Grip 8 3/4 Rear End (both performance & highway friendly gears)... This car is much easier to drive now, especially if you get caught in rush-hour traffic.
Great looking B-Body Mopar, Great driver, awesome cruiser, weekend warrior! All the young people want to know what it is, all the older people that know respect it. With collector prices forever climbing, and 69 GTXs not getting any easier to find, this is a solid investment. One year only body style, and often considered the pinnacle year for the GTX / Road Runner. Top of the line loaded performance muscle car, with plenty of room for the family.
