1929 Plymouth Other RS Roadster Additional Info:
What a truly unique vehicle! This 1929 Plymouth Model U RS Roadster is an excellent example of the early history of the brand. According to our research, 1929 was the first year for this 4cylinder engine, as previous vehicles used a Chrysler designed motor. A Model U was used break the world endurance record in 1929 by being driven continuously for 632 hours and 36 minutes before beingvoluntarily stopped. This was to prove the capability of the vehicle, and longevity of the new motor. The RS Roadster was the flagship of the Plymouth brand and 1929 was the first year that Plymouth was marketed out from underneath the Chrysler name.
This vehicle, finished with a black exterior and brown interior is very eye catching and looks great going down the road. Everything works on this car and it is very fun to drive. The exteriorpaint has a few minorblemishes and hazing but it shows very well. The interior and top are in excellent condition, as can be seen in the photos. This car needs nothing in order to be fully enjoyed.
There are several features of this car that were options in 1929. The dash mounted clock ($12.50), wire wheels ($35), front and rear bumper ($15), Windshield Wind Wings ($10), all combine to make this a well optioned and unique roadster.
