This is actually a 1990 Peugeot 205 GTI (eBay doesn’t recognize imported cars VIN’s). The car was originally from Spain and in a warm climate before the prior owner to me, imported it in the US - they lived in CA. The car is rust free and very solid due to its origin in Spain and previous ownership in CA. The mileage is 151,499 kilometers (on the chassis), which converts to approximately 94,137 miles. The car doesn’t have the original engine. The previous owner swapped the original for an Mi16 engine or Peugeot XU9J4. This is a more powerful engine and popular swap in Europe. If you look for Tolman Edition 205 on YT, you’ll see a company (or many reviews) of a car with this setup that sells for six figures. The car retains a 5 speed manual gearbox. The battery was relocated to the trunk to allow more space under the hood. The car dyno’d at about 135 hp at the wheels. The car has an aftermarket front valance but otherwise looks mainly stock. The car has adjustable coilovers in the front. I have a clean US (state of MN) title in hand. Here is a short driving video: https://youtu.be/uSCKkuFbTEg?si=LjhoUVK4Er6zDABV
Vehicle Details
In the past 3-6 months, I’ve performed extensive maintenance reconditioning the car and included documentation for which. This includes:
-Ignition: Spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor
-Exhaust: gasket from downpipe to system and new rubber isolators
-Oil change with filter
-Air filter
-New dipstick
-Complete coolant flush
-New oil and coolant hoses for about 90% of the engine. Only those in excellent condition were not replaced. Also, a new coolant manifold on the back of the engine
-Professionally refinished Speedline Alloy wheels and new Peugeot center caps
-New Driveshafts on both sides and axle seals
-New gearbox fluid
-New brake fluid reservoir cap gasket
eBay doesn’t allow me to post photos of all the receipts for this work but I do have them and will include (and can email if necessary).
