For sale this gorgeous 1966 Peugeot 404 cabriolet.
It is second owner car from 1968 until December 2013 when I bought from her nice owner to do a total restoration.
The car has spent all its life in California.
We started a ground up restoration as you can see on the more than 260 pictures AND VIDEOS we have posted and you can see following the link below.

All parts of the car were disassembled, replaced the parts that were in bad shape and restoring the ones that wasn’t replaced.
There was no rust at all on the car, only superficial that was fixed. Front chassis members were replaced, aligned and repaired. The car didn’t have any dents or accidents of any kind during all its life.
Car has the original engine 1,600 cc carburetor that was opened, revised, all gaskets changed, among all new suspension and breaks parts bought from France.
Original Amplilux S.E. V. Marchal were installed and Marchal fog lights added (they were not original, but they look great and provide extra lighting.) both with the original yellow bulbs as French cars used at that time.
All chrome were plated and original SS bumpers polished, new original taillights installed, all weather strips replaced.
New top, leather upholstery was installed in cream color.
Car was primed and painted with brown metallic color, not original for the coupes or cabriolets but original for the sedans.
The car runs as new, engine is elastic and with enough power to go up to 90 miles.
Drum brakes were restored with new cylinders and pump received new seals.
Hydrovac were REPLACED OEM from France and works perfect.
We have spent a great deal of parts and labor to put “her” as it looks.
Here is the description from the former owner prior I bought the car:
CLASSIC PEUGEOT CONVERTIBLE This classic rare Pininfarina designed vehicle never ceases to draw attention anytime it is on the road. This beautiful Peugeot Convertible, which has been driven for 47 years by its second owner, drives just the same as always. The ride is smooth and quite good for 49 years of age. I never thought I’d sell this precious Peugeot in my lifetime as I have loved this car. There are wonderful memories of driving all over Southern California with the top down both day and night, sun and wind in my hair. I recall wearing crazy hats with my kids in the car tooling up Pacific Coast Highway gazing at the Pacific. She always performed reliably. She is just a beauty and I love her for the joy she brought into my life. This vehicle was shipped to California and has never left the state. California cars are sought after the world over for good reason. The 404 C, with its Pininfarina design is such a pretty car that it continues to be a highly desirable classic vehicle. The classic Peugeot 404 cabriolet/convertible made its first appearance at the Paris Motor Show in October 1961 and the accompanying coupé version was launched six months later. The convertible and coupé body-shells were made by the Pininfarina workshops in Turin, Italy. I purchased this vehicle in 1968 from Lail Brothers Peugeot in Los Angeles, CA. At that time it had 13,000 miles. After 47 years, the mileage is: 223,314. The original color was Blanc Arosa 1132, a cream white. The vehicle has only been painted once, steel blue. The dash is the original color. This Carrosserie Peugeot is number 10356 which means it was the 10,356th 404C that was built at the Pininfarina factory in March 1966. The serial number is 4499081 and was part of a group of from 60 to 100 404C models brought in to the US in 1966 or 67. The 404C has 4-speeds forward, on the column a manual choke and working radio. Everything is original, as it came from the factory. The only missing feature is the right side mirror, which was removed when it was painted blue. The left side mirror, which I have, needs to be refitted on the car. The interior is worn and requires cosmetic upgrading. What is needed: dashboard cover, new top with glassine and taneau. The seats, both back and front are in fair condition. However the slides and adjustors need repairing. The undercover of the dash needs replacing. The trim is generally in good condition, with a few minor exceptions on the front grill. The body of the vehicle is in remarkable good condition. From the photos, it is obvious there are no major “dings” and this vehicle has never been in an auto accident. According to my mechanic Tom Szell, there is some rust on the right side under the driver’s seat.(See the following attestation as of November of 2013): I am Tom Szell DBA Curbside Mobile Service., the mechanic for Toni Wellen’s 1966 Peugeot 404 convertible. There was general maintenance including: oil changed, minor services, fluid changes, tire rotations, etc., that I did not note due to the fact that this is a summary of all the major repairs performed on the vehicle since it has been in my hands. The owner purchased the vehicle in 1968 and has all the maintenance invoices for the vehicle since 1974. This Peugeot is very mechanically sound, it has no suspension problems, no mechanical problems whatsoever, it starts, runs and drives fine. Tom Szell, DBA Curbside Mobile Service
