Up for auction is a 1947 PACKARD CLIPPER 6. This is a GREAT CAR. I found this car shelved in a barn in W Virginia. It was stored their since 1972. Prior to that, he previous owner stated that it was purchased from a couple in Alabama, nd the car originated from Texas. The car spent it's life in the south and it can be confirmed, ue to the low amount of rust for it's vintage. IT HAS NEVER BEEN RESTORED OR MOLESTED!
The mileage as recorded on the car is 9,381 and noted so on the title. The speedometer DOES NOT WORK, nd looking at the condition, t is probably much higher.
I purchased the car non-running and no brakes. The following was done to get it "running"': New battery, uel pump, ater pump, il filter, lugs, ires and distributor cap. The motor fired right up. The brake hoses, aster cylinder, nd 2 front slave cylinders were replaced and new brake fluid added..Note: it still retains a 6V positive ground electrical system. Headlights, ail lights, nd dash lights, orn are functional.
I purchased this car with the intent of a nice relaxing restore, ut another project has found it's way into my garage, nd I would like to see this wonderful car go to a new home. If you want a showroom car, ou will need to do a frame up. However, t would not take much to make this a "parade-show car".
