1940 Packard Super Eight One-Sixty — Model 1805 Touring Limousine
21,475 actual miles • 148" wheelbase • 356ci straight-eight • Factory overdrive
A genuine long-wheelbase Senior Packard, unrestored inside, just out of a thorough mechanical sort-out. It starts, runs, and drives, and the rare factory overdrive works. This is a sorted driver, not a project. Please read the entire listing, including the section on what the car needs — it is described honestly.

A California vehicle history report obtained by me came back with the previous owner chain, and the prior owner's original California records come with the car, along with every receipt from the work I have had performed.
When I bought the car, the local Packard community pointed me to a retired engine builder in my neighborhood. He ran his own engine shop and built motors for Phil Hill during the 1970s, including engines in Hill's concours Packard collection. He inspected and drove this car and gave his opinion that the odometer reading is accurate and the interior is original and untouched. He is retired and not taking calls, but I can share details with a serious buyer.
Phil Hill won the Formula One World Championship in 1961, the first American-born driver to do so, and won Le Mans three times. After retiring from racing he co-founded Hill & Vaughn in Santa Monica, the shop that set the modern standard for concours restoration. He took Best of Show at Pebble Beach twice, including in 1977 with his 1927 Packard 343 Murphy Convertible Sedan.
