Reducing my collection of cars that just sit and don't get driven. I am drawn to unique cars - who wants to be like everyone else at a show or on a drive ? This car is unique. A Factory supercharged station wagon - go figure. This is the same engine setup that would appear years later in the Avanti.This was a dry rust free car originally from the NV/ CA border and has been here in Florida ( clear title in my name ) for the past 10 years while I had the following done.Car completely stripped to bare metal and repainted and looks beautiful - original colors of black and Woodsmoke Grey poly. - no rust to begin with / a couple of minor dings and dents were fixed / original paint was very faded and flaking off on the roof as shown in the last photo of the auction before the work was done but no body damage and no rust.Completely restored interior - new carpets, headliner, sun visors, door panels and seats etc. etc. All with original fabric that we had to wait in excess of 3 years for from SMS ( never use them )New brakes, wheels, tire, suspension parts and dual exhaust and the supercharger was restored.The transmission rebuilt and the engine was gone through. Like any old car that just sits for a few years between drives or like any museum car, it does not do the car any good and maintenance and adjusting are required each time after long periods of sitting. I have been taking it out more lately working out a few bugs. I have not taken it on long road trips but have on frequent drives around town. The engine rumbles and sounds good with the dual exhausts and you can hear the supercharger kicking in when you step on the gas. It starts right up and runs well.1 of only 869 cars made in 1957 - very few leftThis is a 68 year old used vintage car sold as is, where is, with no warranty.I am getting tired of paying for multiple storage units for cars that I like looking at, but rarely drive and this is one of them.
