1955 Pakard Patrician, 4 Door Sedan, 8 Cylinder Engine, 352cid/260hp 4bbl. 1955 featured the Twin-Ultramatic Drive transmission designed by McFarland, and his assistant world-renowned designer John DeLorean, which was vastly improved over the 1954 Gear-Start Ultramatic. A modified angle of the converter pump allowed a higher stall speed thus increasing the torque. Body & Paint - hardtops were painted differently to compliment and harmonize with the exterior. 2 tone paint the roof and lower side body panels were Packard Topaz Metallic while the rest of the car was a Creme color. This created a very classy & dynamic look. Short fender skirts. An amazing horizontal small fin trim piece began 1/3 of the way down the back door and ran all the way to the front. Features a “The Patrician” script emblem emblazoned just behind the front wheel. A bird / eagle like hood ornament graces the hood, stainless steel, trim and moldings on almost every part of the car, too many places to list. Amazing craftsmanship and design work. The new Patricians featured modern styling including hooded headlamps, wrap around windshield and parking lamps. A sleek fender line ran from front to rear meeting the cathedral style taillights. A tailfin design was very pleasing to the eye. Interior features Tan cloth with Creme weave middle bench seat. Beautifully designed 3 tone cloth door panels with two accent polished aluminum trim pieces that separate the colors. This car has Power Front and Back Windows. The dash panel and the gauge cluster resemble an aircraft / plane control panel set it a diamond plate stainless steel facia. Packard produced only 9,127 of the cars, rare car. This suspension was unlike any other system that came before or since. A revolutionary design that used two main torsion bars that ran on each side of the frame connecting the front wheels to the rears in a way to allow the suspension to pivot. A leveling system included in this design used a sensor to level the cars posture but not the overall ride height for maximum comfort while driving over potholes and railroad tracks and providing superior handling compared to other cars of this by gone era.
