Up for sale is this Beautiful 1948 Packard Super Eight Touring Sedan As you can see from the pictures, this car is very solid. It has A straight eight engine and 3 speed transmission, with overdrive. The car is equipped with the electromatic clutch and vacuum shifted overdrive. These are super rare cars and this one is in unusually good shape. I bought the car to restore, but just have to many projects, and this car is just too nice to let deteriorate waiting for me to get to it.
I have had the car running and the engine sounds good, but could use some carb work. The drivers side windshield is cracked. the previous owner said that happened when he had the car moved and the sun visor blew off in transport (no longer has sun visor). The drivers door glass is missing.
It appears that someone started redoing the interior at some point. The seats are in really good shape, but the rest of the interior could use a little work.
Most, if not all, of the trim and interior pieces are in the trunk, along with various other extra parts. I was told by previous owner that all trim and interior pieces were there, but I have not verified that. The rear bumper is missing. Does have both fender skirts!
To be driveable the car needs brake work and some electrical issues worked out (ignition switch and lights). Appears to have new brake lines, but needs a master cylinder.
Overall a very nice car, with tons of potential.
