This is a beautiful 1941 Packard 160 Club Coupe. It is a beautiful restoration that has been well maintained and driven regularly. We love the gorgeous and sexy lines of the club coupe without the running boards and side mount spare!!
The odometer and history show it to have 82,000 miles. There is every indication that it is the correct mileage. Even the documented history available supports this.
The Coupe scored 97.5 points at the 2016 CCCA Grand Classic in Rancho Santa Fe as well as 97.5 points in 2009 at the CCCA Grand Classic in Phoenix, AZ. It is Senior Car Number 2891S. It is now ready for competition in the Premier Class of the CCCA.
The CCCA points speak volumes, but the chrome, paint and engine compartment detailing is gorgeous. The interior upholstery was done years ago, but it is in very good condition and very show worthy as-is. The Coupe will score about 98 points anywhere.
Factory accessories include the AM radio, Heater and Defroster and dual side mirrors. Everything works as it should. The clock has been upgraded to a quartz movement and all gauges and instruments work as they should.
This Coupe is perfect for touring. It comes tour ready with the venerable 356 cu. in. nine-main bearing straight eight engine with three speed with overdrive transmission. For safety, comfort and handling, it has steel belted Diamond Back wide whitewall radial tires. The Coupe easily cruises at 70-75 miles per hour all day long. And in complete safety. It is also equipped with seat belts, battery cut-off switch and auxiliary electric fuel pump for priming after storage. It’s really ready to enjoy!
We've put a few hundred touring miles on the car for the Arizona Concours tour, the La Jolla Concours, CCCA events and just enjoying it to go to breakfast! It drives beautifully. The oil pressure and temperature are excellent.
The chassis is all original and has never been fully detailed. It reflects zero rust and low mileage. I considered detailing it but decided it is really the only way to verify the low mileage and the love it's enjoyed all these years. It is really very nice under the car!
The only items needing attention: the windshield wiper knob isn't seated correctly. Everything works fine but the knob needs repair. Secondly, there is a valve tick when the engine is fully warm. We assume a valve adjustment would do the trick.
HISTORY: The Packard was owned and shown by Lester B. Jackson in Arizona. He owned the coupe from 2004 until he passed in 2009. He had a significant amount of work performed which we have records for. We have over $20,000 worth of restoration receipts from a well known Scottsdale, AZ restoration shop. It was then sold to Russell Barker in New Mexico. Prior to Mr. Jackson the car was toured in regularly as per service records.
The Coupe comes with a fitted custom car cover, touch up paint, a full file of service and show history and lots of goodies. We've recently had the paint rubbed out, the engine compartment fully detailed (paint, etc.) and the interior touched up as needed.
This is a very rare and special Club Coupe. These are about the nicest driving Packard’s ever made. And they enjoy sexy lines! Especially without the running boards and side mounts!
