1962 Other Makes Alpine Additional Info:
This is an original 1962 Sunbeam Alpine with 32,510 original miles. This car has the original Dunloptiresfrom the factory. Original paint, engine, interior, convertible top and tonneau cover.I rebuilt the engine and was careful not to disturb any of the original patinaI have the original, not a copy of the bill of sale at aSunbeamdealer inRockfordIllinois, have the original dealer brochures and the key fob given to the owner at the time of salethis car runs and drives, shifts through all gears. The tires hold air but I would not trust them at highway speeds. The muffler is rusted away and the tailpipe is gone but that's it.The original owner has done some after market work, like sidelights that work, an altimeter and all sorts ofsafetylights under the dash like fasten seat belts and a brake light indicator, air horns, but the original horns work perfect. This car should be seen and driven by a potential buyer, it has always been garaged, always. No frame trust at all, the dealer applied seal coat is mostly there and where itisn't, there is beautiful metal, full thickness excellent condition.I am listing this car with the hope of finding a collector, I am sure that it is one of the best survivors of thismodelin the world. The headlights are original Lucas and work.If you are interested in this car you can buy it, make an offer but I stronglyrecommendthat serious buyers call me direct. I can and will put tires, and exhaust and go through the car completely and make it road worthy if this car does not sell. I am looking for someone who wants this car as is, original and can then make it their own. You will not see a car like this ever again. the pictures are during the rebuilding and there an original horn button, the lever on the steering column is not overdrive, it is thedirectionals, the other side is plugged, I do not know why this is but it is unique. I have the other Lucas driver light and protective cage, the bracket was loose and I am fabricating another. The fuel tank was removed boiled out and sealed, the original lines were cleaned out and original fuel pump and carbsrebuilt.Pullout the choke and the carfiresright upimmediatelyand idles perfect. The white brace in the engine compartment was out at the time of this picture but is back in. the guy that wants this car will come here, this is the real deal. The convertible top is tucked away in the rear compartment. All of the frame is there, including the two you must remove to tuck away. The condition of the top is no rips but a yellow rear window. It is a pain to put up and down for pictures so I leave it away and use the tonneau cover. It is always in a garage unless I take it for a spin. All drive line fluids are new, no leaks. Changed oil pump and strainer. car is exceptional.John (631) 774-9509
I also have a hard top that did not come with this car and does not go with this car but it is the original with all of the stainless trim, latches, headliner hoops and the rear window. I have sold all of my other Alpines and would consider giving the top to a buy it now buyer, otherwise it isadditional but is not for saleseparatelyuntil this car sells
There is too much information to list but you should know that it has the original points, cap, rotor and spark plug wires and they are in excellent condition and work perfectly.
Serious buyers always callJohn (631) 774-9509
One other thing I have tomentionbecause it is so cool, the only owner of this car was a Shriner in the Tebala chapter in Rockford Illinois, he has Shiner decal on thewindshield and a reflector on the rear of the car. I have the owners Fez in a beautiful leather case that matches the decals exactly. I also have the Illinois vanity plate with the owners initials. This car was last registered in Illinois in 1983In the trunk is the original spare, never used, and the hold down strap looks like brand new. There is a can of "spare tire" from the 60's, the little white short can. Oh yeah, and the tool kit.
