MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this 1940s icon. Even today, his brilliant Beaumont Blue, ith tan cloth Lasalle 40-5027 coupe, esiding previously from the dry state of Texas, efies showing it’s age and still stands tall. The 1940 and final LaSalle was produced in October 1939, nd this being its final year (as it had in its first), ame with a wide array of semi-custom body styles.

The LaSalle was sold as a companion marque of Cadillac from 1927 to 1940. The LaSalle was conceived not as a junior Cadillac, ut something more agile and stylish. What emerged was a smaller yet elegant counterpoint to Cadillac’s larger cars, nd unlike anything else built by an American automotive manufacturer.

Finished in a beautiful “Beaumont Blue”, the paint job shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection, uch as stains on the left front fender, ood and a small dent on the front bumper. Front and rear bumpers are chrome have an excellent fit and finish that show well. All trim pieces are present and have a brilliant finish with only very minor signs of age. The weather-stripping surround the doors and glass are in very good condition with no signs of drying, earing or shrinkage. The headlights and taillights are in very condition with no hazing or cracks. The 16 inch steel wheel with LaSalle center caps show very little signs of marring or curb rash.

Inside, he original appearing tan cloth seats all look great with no major signs of wear visible, ith excellent matching carpet and floor mats throughout the interior. The door panels and dashboard are matched perfectly the exterior of the car and look fantastic. The art deco gauges offer enough contrast to enhance the entire interior. The headliner mirrors the rest of the cabin and completes the theme. The original equipment steering wheel is in great condition, ith normal wear and just a couple of small cracks.

This nicely represented LaSalle is equipped with the single carbureted 130 hp, 22 cu. in. L-head V8 engine, hree-speed manual transmission, ndependent front suspension with unequal-length A-arms and coil springs, ive rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, nd four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Included with this car is the original “Operating Hints” manual.

Since the LaSalle brand name was based on that of a French explorer, ene- Robert Cavelier, ieur de La Salle, his is your opportunity to do a little (automotive) exploring yourself… GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!

Current mileage on the odometer shows 90,169,It is sold as is on a clean & clear mileage exempt title.
