1951 HENRY J
This is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone looking for a Henry J project. I don’t have the time to fool with this one, so some lucky bidder will be a very, very happy guy (or gal). Why buy something that will require 300 hours of rust repair and metal replacement when you can actually start your build instead of trying to resurrect the dead? This is absolute prime gasser material and is an extremely rare find in this condition. This one sat for 30 years in storage and is virtually unmolested. It can easily be restored to stock, but I doubt that what most of you have in mind! I’ve had more than a few Henry J’s over the years, but have never found one in this condition – it’s a lifelong, California resident and it shows.
The hood trim, bumpers and grille bar are not pictured but come with the car. The grill center section should be re-chromed, but it comes with 2 NOS parking lamp assemblies. If you are going to build a gasser, it will come with a brand new, in the box Speedway straight axle kit. If you are looking for a bone stock restoration, the winning bidder can forego the axle kit and deduct $500.00 from the winning bid amount.
Should go without saying, but this car is a NON-RUNNER, and it will need to be TRANSPORTED to your location at your expense. I am happy to assist your transporter in loading and logistics, but finding and arranging a suitable carrier is the responsibility of the winning bidder.
The opening bid is a joke (just look at what total rot boxes are listed for), but if that’s what it brings, that’s what it brings. There IS NO RESERVE, so if you get this at the opening bid it’s like hitting the Hot Rod Lottery. There is no buy-it-now price, so please don’t ask. The car will be sold through this ebay auction listing only.
Study the pictures carefully and ASK ALL YOUR QUESTIONS prior to bidding. This comes with a CLEAN / CLEAR CALIFORNIA TITLE IN MY NAME, and the title matches the VIN plate in the door jamb, not the engine or body number or other nonsense.
Please check with your significant other, your spiritual advisor, your neighbor, your parole officer, or that little voice in your head before you bid (if you hear more than one voice, please don’t bid). Scammers that want to overpay with a bank check are encouraged to give it a shot – the comedic value is priceless. A $500.00 deposit is required via Paypal immediately. Failure to post the deposit as indicated will lead to sale cancellation and second chance offer availability for next in line bidder, if any. The balance is payable in cash, or wire transfer within 3 days of auction close. Vehicle need to be picked up within 2 weeks of auction close. All funds must clear my bank before the vehicle leaves without exception. Should go without saying but….the vehicle is sold AS IS, WHERE IS, and is without warranty of ANY kind. Only you can determine if it is suited for your intended use, and there are no returns or refunds under any circumstances. You buy it, you own it.
Thanks for taking a look, and Happy Bidding!
