There's no denying that muscle cars are, by their very definition, vehicles that are faster than your average commuter car. But, when you take an already quick car, and turn it into a purpose-built drag racer like this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ProStreet, you have a seriously impressive hot rod on your hands. Fully repainted in an unmistakable Bolero Red, this modded first-gen sports a massive cowl-induction hood, mini-tubbed rear, and visible roll cage to signal to the world that this car is going to be a problem for anyone brave enough to line up next to it.
Inside, we find a recently refreshed black vinyl interior. A center console separates dual bucket seats, while a no-frills four-spoke steering wheel sits in front of what feels like an underprepared 120 mph speedometer. A triplet of auxiliary gauges is located just below the AM radio's head unit, while the passenger has a sturdy expletive handle that will undoubtedly get plenty of use. The back seat has been deleted in favor of the half cage, and the trunk is now home to a large fuel cell.
Under that imposing hood, we find a massive 454 cubic-inch V-8 engine. Freshly painted and likely sporting new seals, this big block is topped with an aluminum intake manifold, which is fed by a single four-barrel carburetor. Spent gases are expelled through a set of long tube headers before being ushered out by way of a dual exhaust system. Power is routed through a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission equipped with a high stall converter that sends those ponies through a Ford nine-inch rear end. That power is sent to the tarmac via a set of polished American Racing Torq Thrust wheels shod in big P275/60R-15 Starfire rubber. At the same time, a narrower set of 205/75R-15 tires handles steering duties up front.

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ProStreet rides on a modified, back-halved frame and floors that allow for a three-link conversion and mini tub. Up front, tubular A-arms are utilized, while a set of subframe connectors increases rigidity. QA1 coilovers are set at all four corners, while unassisted disc brakes are prepared to scrub off speed as soon as that quarter-mile is up. A first-generation Camaro will always be considered a fast car by almost any standard, but this purpose-built racecar will shove you back into your seat like no factory car ever could. Don't wait, call today!
