1970 Dodge Challenger Additional Info:

We have been asked by a local Estate to sell several Mopars including this rare 1970 Dodge Challenger factory Plum Crazy purple 383 R/T SE 4 speed car. Great opportunity to purchase a mainly original sheetmetal car that has had significant modifications done to the drivetrain and suspension including built 440 motor, hemi 4 speed transmission and dana rear end. Car was built about 15 years ago. Starting bid is far less than what you would spend to put a Challenger together like this! Comes with original fender tag and has a clean Colorado title.
Body: Excellent rust free body with all original sheetmetal except the quarters that appear to have been replaced. Car's paint is older driver type quality with paint cracking, lifting in a few areas and various chips, see pics. Excellent original fenders, doors, floors, hood, deck lid, etc. Excellent original R/T grille and headlight bezels. Excellent original taillights which have no pitting on the chrome. Exterior stainless trim has a few dings. Has rear SE window and black vinyl top. Rear dual exhaust valance is newer reproduction and has never been painted. Pulled back the trunk mat and found surface rust under mat, trunk is very solid.
Interior: Factory Pistol grip 4 speed. Nice newer black leather seats, correct rallye gauges, original dash pad cracked and covered by plastic dash cover, original SE door panels, newer sill plates. Nice newer black headliner, does not have the SE overhead console. was a factory console car but was put together without the center console. has a large after market tach that works mounted on the steering column. Clock, factory tach and gas gauge are not working all other factory gauges are working. Dynamat has been added and covers the floors and rear seat area. Newer Kenwood radio/cassette player working with after market rear speakers.
Motor Transmission: Motor fires up right away and sounds incredible! Car was built to go fast. has been sitting for a few years in storage but reportedly only has about 250 miles of driving time. Has a built F code 1970 440 motor with a larger than stock cam. Single plane Edelbrock Torker aluminum intake manifold. Dual feed Holley carburetor. Newer aluminum radiator. Hemi 18 spline 4 speed transmission with scatter shield. has headers that collect back mid floor section then 3 inch direct exhaust pipes through mufflers. Battery has been mounted in the trunk with a power on/off switch. has a oil cooler mounted in front of the radiator.
Factory power disc brakes and front sway bar. Custom made skid plate covering bottom of oil pan. Stock frame has been heavily reinforced with added bars to front transmission frame support also has lateral type bars. Dana rear end with 3.54 gears is reinforced to rear frame support. No cutting of the original body or frame was done in the modifications and frame reinforcement. Has 15" Rallye wheels with 235X15 tires in front and 255X15 in rear with room for larger tires in the rear. Car is very complete however has no wiper arms, horns.
