1982 Toyota 4x4 Pickup SR5 – 119k Original Miles - Long Bed RN48 / Air Conditioning / Power Steering – Basically every spec except the unicorn factory Moonroof I bought the truck in March 2024 with the intention of doing a proper ‘nut and bolt’ restoration.I chose this truck for the restoration because of the low miles and unmolested condition. It was a 1 owner Oklahoma farm truck from new…therefore low miles, but well/properly used. Since I bought the truck I just parked it and started buying parts preparing for the restoration. 95% of the parts are factory OEM/NOS from various sources globally. Japan and the UAE have warehousing for most of the NOS parts left. I’ve also been cultivating select new parts on eBay and other sources. As expected, many parts are just not available NOS so I’ve purchased high quality aftermarket parts through sources like LC Engineering and elsewhere when necessary. Examples: I had custom new leaf springs made by LCE. I also sent the original worn-out door cards overseas to my upholsterer and had them recreated to exact OEM quality/fitment/aesthetic.
Like with all of my restorations (there have been many) I take my time and spare no expense. The good: A perfect restoration candidate and much of the money has already been spent ($11k in parts – with receipts). Low original mileage unmolested never wrecked RN48 with almost every option. The bad: Small rust hole under the battery tray. The bed is pretty rough but workable (I intended to find one in better shape in order to save a couple hundred-man hours in the restoration process) The skinny: I have enough parts to tear the truck down, send the frame off to powder coat and then reassemble. Aside from body work on the cab and bed it’s ready for that. Interior parts are difficult to find for these, so that takes time and patience. Reason for sale: Although I take my time with these things and I’ve been in no hurry, I don’t think I’ll be able to spend the time necessary anytime soon to start working on it. I’ve been traveling for a solid 9 months for work and expect to be traveling for the next 6+ months. P.S. I’ve had several of these trucks in the past (although it’s been a while) and can answer pretty much any question that you might have, so fire away. Note: I have a spreadsheet of all of the parts purchased up until current (attached). Clear title in hand. All new parts come with the pickup as a package....$11k in 95% OEM/NOS parts. This isn't for everyone. It's for someone who wants to restore the pickup but doesn't want to spend a year collecting the right parts. I've done that for you :) The truck does run, but I've only driven it from the trailer to its parking spot. I'm only asking what I have invested...and to pass it along to someone with the time to do the restoration.
P.P.S. I'm out of town at the moment for work but will fly home to coordinate shipping or pickup. Buyer pays shipping. I accept Paypal, Zelle, Cash, or Wire. Must be paid in full within 7 days of auction end.
