This is a rare car – you don’t see that many ’56 Ford convertibles. My father bought this car in the mid-80’s. I believe he found it in a northwestern state (Washington, Montana?) I do not recall exactly. It has been garage kept here in southern California since then. I would call this a number 2 or 3 car. The paint is very good but not show quality. No rust in body panels or frame. The engine will fire and run at higher rpm but will not idle. The carburetor has been completely restored/rebuilt (see pic’s) so not sure what the issue is right now. Also to note is the power steering ram leaks(needs rebuild or replacement) and the top does not operate – most likely the hydraulic pump. So it is project car and thus is a non-running car for shipping purposes.
Driving this car (top down of course) was always a blast. Not a speed demon, it’s just great car for cruising around town, plenty of room for family/friends. Dogs love riding in the back seat, wind in their face, etc.
