Vehicle Details
I’ve owned this Subaru for ~13 years. Odometer says about 244,000. I have some paperwork that I will include showing work done to the car. In my over decade of ownership, I’ve replaced anything that broke. Ignition broke, replaced it with a new one. Struts were bad, they were replaced. Shocks replaced. CVs in the front have been replaced within about a year and a few hundred miles. Battery is from 2021 and the tires are at least 5 years old, probably more. Glass is good; the front windshield does have a chip, but no crack.
Let’s talk about the “rust”. For some reason, this BRAT is not rusty in the MOST typical places they traditionally rust, that being the rocker panels and the rear wheel wells. I can’t see any noteworthy rust in those places. But, there is rust that has eaten through the bracket on the back bumper, making it appear more significant than it is (In my very humble opinion). But, it is rusty back there, so I want it noted clearly in the ad. Otherwise, this is a fair rust-free example. If you fear the rust, check out the videos.
Now, let’s talk about the rear seats, or lack thereof. Subaru stopped having the seats installed in the US models in 1986. That means that this BRAT never had seats. They can be easily added. I have the parts, but that’s a totally separate thing/sale and not included with this sale.
I spent most of my time and energy on keeping this old gal spinning like a top. Me, personally, I’d hop in and take off to Cali in a second! Granted, she’s kicking 40 years old in the butt, so you’ll at least need to be prepared with some tools and a dash of know how. Car is currently registered, insured and has a clean title in my name. This car is ready to be driven by its new owner! No warranties or guarantees here, the car is 38 years old, ya know.
Glass is all good with the exception of the windshield which has a small chip. All blinkers and lights work as expected. Internal lights work. NO A/C. NO A/C, did you read that? NO A/C. The heat works as expected but might be a little dirty. I haven’t used it, ever.
I have tons of pictures and videos of this BRAT here. Check them out. https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0R5NI45Mi1R3N
