Vehicle Details

1968 Triumph Spitfire Mark III. Original 1296 cc runs great and is a blast to drive. North Dakota car. Car was covered in heated storage from 1993 until I bought it in 2021. I put a new gas tank and lines. I had it brought up to good running condition with the work being done by a respected local import shop. Twin SU carbs have been rebuilt. New tires have less than 200 miles on them. New front brake pads, calipers, and rotors. New rear brake shoes, drums, wheel cylinders and all hoses. New master cylinder. New points and condenser. Top in good condition, comes with car cover, original parade boot cover and also a cover that snaps in place to cover the interior while the top is down-not sure what the name of that is. I understand these cars are a little cold blooded but once warmed up it runs well and drives as it should. Clear Wisconsin title in my name. The receipt from the import shop noted that the muffler may be clogged, but it seems to operate as it should but you may want To replace it. Occasionally at idle it sputters out and has to be restarted but a couple revs usually take care of that. I’m assuming it’s just a carb adjustment but I’m not smart enough to dial it in better so I just enjoy it as it is. The car is a blast to drive and has really grown on me but I have another project waiting for me so I would like to pass this one along. Headlights work, left turn signal inop. Speedometer works, tach acts like it wants to work but is very bouncy- I chalked it up to sitting and perhaps it will free up from use? I don’t know. I just want to be as accurate as possible. Overall body and all floors are really solid- no rot to be seen anywhere. Hood and trunk open and close as they should. Couple paint chips but all in all this is a great little car.
