1969 Shelby Cobra GT350Select Shift Automatic Transmission w/ 351-4V V-8 EngineRear Deck Rear SeatsThis is a vehicle that was coveted by my late father who recently passed away. Since before I was born, over 40 years ago, this car has been left under a cover and locked away in an Arizona garage, never to be driven. It's never seen snow or salt and is about as rust-free as you can get. For a discerning collector looking to restore a stock and virgin Shelby Cobra GT350 with a documented story to tell, this is the vehicle you've been waiting for!THE STORY:My father was stationed in the Air Force near Cape Canaveral, Florida during his early twenties. Before being honorably discharged, he chose to purchase this vehicle used at a local Ford dealership and drove it back to Tempe, Arizona. His purchase date for the vehicle was September 22nd, 1972. Before I was born, someone chose to steal this car for a day and went on a joyride, leaving it at a nearby car wash to be recovered by the police. With a broken ignition thanks to the thief, life caught up with my father once I was born and he just never got around to repairing the ignition and getting this vehicle back on the road. Truthfully, in hindsight, it might have been a blessing in disguise knowing that it's been locked away and preserved all this time. Since receiving delivery of this car at my home in Austin in 2021, it's just sat covered in my garage. Although I love this vehicle and what it represents to my family, I honestly want to allow someone else to enjoy this vehicle as much as my father would.RECENT RESTORATION COSTS:After my father passed away in late 2020, I inherited this vehicle. However, I live in Austin, Texas and in order to get this vehicle trailered to me, I chose to have Venom Classics in Mesa, Arizona restore it to the point that it could be driven so that they could easily drive it into an enclosed trailer. Venom Classics personally transported this vehicle to me in an enclosed trailer and hand delivered it. I've attached the invoice showing the work that was done within the past few years and the associated costs. You'll notice I've spent close to $10,000.WHAT YOU GET:This vehicle comes with an Arizona title that will be notarized and signed over to the buyer. I will also include original documentation of the vehicles history including: Marti Report PDF, invoices from recent work performed, and original documentation from when my father purchased the vehicle in Florida. We also have three spare authentic Shelby Cobra wheels that will come with this vehicle.INSPECTIONS:I will allow inspections of this vehicle to be done at my home for extremely serious and well-qualified buyers only. Since I have very limited time due to my work schedule, I will require that interested buyers provide evidence of their ability to purchase this vehicle before inspections are scheduled with your preferred mechanic. Please Note: Since this vehicle has sat in my garage for nearly three years since it was last started, it will need the gas to be removed and refilled before attempting to start the vehicle. This is obviously going to be a big purchase for someone, so please feel free to ask me any questions you have about the vehicle or request additional photos, etc. Happy to help!Due to this being a 50+ years old car that clearly needs some work, buyer should consider this sale "as-is".Thank you.
