I CALL IT "THE BEAMER"; but it's a Sunbeam-Talbot 90 convertible modified, to mimic the rare and beautiful Sunbeam Alpine of the early '50s The car (and my plans) have been in storage for 10 yrs; and I'm now too old, tired, and BURNT OUT to finish it !! BUT SOMEONE SHOULD BUILD THIS CAR !!I've restored &/or modified several cars incl. Daimler, Citroen, Riley, and a similar '54 Alpine (the inspiration for this car). The Alpine, with a Chevy V-6, sold for $55K at Barrett-Jackson, '08--and a similar car, also w/ Chevy drive train. just sold for $58K !! The "upgraded" cars perform better, drive better, are more comfortable and reliable, and BEST OF ALL USUALLY SELL FOR MORE THAN ORIGINALS !! This car will have the advantages of more head and leg room PLUS roll-up windows. The "BMW" style grill is my creation; and could be interchangeable w/ the orig. Sunbeam grill-- I have the mold as well as original unit. also a good Missouri title. The engine & trans were removed in preparation for a modern replacement.- -V6 Ford, Chevy, or Toyota are best options. I have a new windshield and alum radiator along w/ tons of parts. will be glad to provide advice, all my plans, sources, & contacts call for more details & photos-and ask about the "Beamer" story.
