This is a Matching numbers 1972 442 Convertible and is one of 1,171 produced and is documented with two broadcast sheets listing the W29 option proving that it is a real 442. It is powered by its original 350 CI 8-cylinder engine backed by three speed automatic transmission. The M in the Vin number confirms it is an original 350 CI four barrel car with dual exhaust. Upon completion of the restoration it was shown at a AACA national meet in Hershey Pennsylvania in October 2016 and earned a first place award in its class. The original paperwork from 1972 is still with the car including the two broadcast sheets Protect-O-plate original owners manual vehicle warranty letter from the dealership manager thanking the owner for their purchase and pre-delivery checklist and various mechanical invoices. The car came from Oklahoma and was rust free and all original. The exhaust pipes on the car are original exhaust pipes and were ceramic coated to preserve them and trumpet tips were added. The car was restored by Thorton muscle cars which are the best restorers in the country for these cars. This car is loaded with options including the Thorton steel frame ram air hood that was added in 2016 during the frame off restoration other options include SSI wheels, Goodyear poly glass tires, Sunfire yellow paint, white interior, bucket seats, Console, power steering, power disc brakes, sport steering wheel, Quadra jet carburetor, AM/FM stereo, sport mirrors and handpainted factory 442 stripes. The concourse frame off rotisserie restoration was completed in September 2016 and the car has been driven less than 200 miles since completion. Hemmings muscle machines feature the car on the cover in September 2017 with an extensive article about the restoration in the restoration profile section of the magazine.
