1968 DODGE D100

NO RESERVE SWB SWEPTLINE 100 PHOTOS

Thanks for checking out “Oscar” my 1968 Dodge D100, Factory 114” Shortwide pickup, Factory 318, upgraded with 5spd manual, talk about fun!!! These are very hard trucks to find especially SWB, this will make someone a great cruiser, project truck that you can restore as you go, or just drive it. If you got a Moparshop and need a great shop truck, throw your logo on the door and use it, nice little tax right off to boot. I absolutely love these trucks, especially a short wide box Sweptline. These trucks have a great look, very wide with a low profile look with the roof cab, and when you slam them on the ground they have a menacing look. I wish Ford and Chevy’s could have captured the style like Dodge did on these 61-71 Sweptlines. This truck has a 318 in it, and just sounds great. Upgraded to a 5 speed manual, with short throw Hurst Shifter. It also has been upgraded with 1972 Barracuda Bucket seats. This truck runs and drives fantastic. The kind you could fly in and drive it home if you wanted, very dependable Please check out the photos, Oscar is a solid truck, mechanically he is very sound. Give me a call if you want to discuss it more. Thanks, Jason 503-910-2085

Condition: Itwas used like many old truck, but if you look at the bed it is very clean, and not abused not all dented up like most. It has been repainted most likely a few times, originally a pale yellow, but now a metallic dark green. This is not a restored truck, just a nice vintage truck that someone has cared about over the years, but showing some aging and patina. A gentleman owned if for many years, and he was building his dream truck, and wasgetting it to the point to make a greatdaily driver, but unfortunately he passed away beforehecould getto the stagesof repainting and restoring it, I got it from his widow. The paint is nothing super fancy, but it does have a decent shine to it at least one color and it looks great going down the road. It is obviously older paint, lots of chips and small scratches some touched up some not, there is one large scrap on the passengers fender upfront. A few bubbles on the body, the heaviest at the bottom corners of the rear of the bed corners next to bumper. Take a look at the photos, and you will get a very good idea of what it is and isn’t. Overall it is very solid., and the front of hood, but honestly this is one of the most solid vintage D100 trucks in this vintage I have seen in a while. Eventually you will want to paint it down the road or perhaps not, just drive it, or take it to the next level, but for now it looks good, and you can drive it and enjoy, maybe even bring it to a few weekend cruise nights and enjoy yourself. I do get lots of thumbs up, because this is a classic looking truck that you don't see often, especially a SWB. It looks great from 15-20 ft away, it is not a show queen, not a 30K truck, I would say the paint is around 25 years old. The general chrome on the truck, has pitting and crazing. This is nicer than most D100’s. This is better then most driver/projects that I have seen on Ebay or elsewhere. The only modifications I can see on the body, is they put LED taillights in it, and filled in the rear seams for the quarter extensions. I took out one of the taillights, and could feel up inside the original opening for the original lights. Not really sure why they modified them, honestly I kind of like the rear taillights, so might just leave them the way they are, but the choice is up to you . Overall the body is in very solid, and in great shape, besides some of the paint flaws. There are some small dings in it, a little wavy down the sides, but nothing really major, look at the pictures and you will get a very good idea of what it is or is not. Underneath is fairly clean, you can see general surface rust, and some rust areas at the bottoms of the corner of the cab, but overall a very nice solid truck underneath, even with the blistering it has, many folks back east would love this truck, because it is one solid truck. Would have to have you come and look at it before you bid if you get the chance or send a friend in the area. It would look great to sand it down and patina it out to, and give it a real vintage look, it is an open canvas for sure.

Mechanically it is invery goodshape. The engine is a 318 V8, I am not sure if it is the original, but know that it came with a 318 when it was new according to the VIN decode. It has been upgraded with a Edelbrock Performer 4v intake, and Holley 670cfm Street Avenger Carb, with Long tube headers. All topped off with new Mopar Performance Valve Covers and matching Mopar Performance Air Cleaner. The engine is in very good shape, has a manual choke, it starts right up, and sounds great especially with dual exhaust to let it breathe. The engine isa strong runner for sure, and has very good acceleration. There is normal engine oil residue, but no major oil leaks currently that I have noticed. It does notsmoke or burn oil, exhaust is clean. The transmission has been upgraded to a 5spd on the floor, with Hurst Shifter, originally an AT truck, no complaints here, makes it fun to drive. The transmission shifts nice, clutch feels great. No transmission noise, sounds nice and tight. The exhaust is in good shape no holes, sounds great. The brakes work very good, and do notpull, truck stops nice and straight. The suspension is all stock and actually drives pretty nice, I was pretty surprised for an older truck how nice it does drive down the road, though has its normal wandering for being old, I don't think it has ever been rebuilt, so it wonders a little bit when you drive it, not much be a little. It does drive like your typical vintage truck, but it will give you a smile on your face every time, especially pulling through all 5 gears!!! The tires are very nice they are Toyo A/T Open Country 265/70/15, I would say they are about 95%. The wheels are nice, but have some rust pitting starting on them in some of the grooves, the passenger rear wheel has some heavy pitting though. Overall mechanically the truck seems to be in good shape, obviously will need a little tinkering here and there, but mechanically it is good.

Interior is in good driver quality shape. It has 1972 Cuda Bucket seats installed. They are decent, original green seats, which would have been perfect, but someone a long time ago, tried to dye them black, and now they have faded, but honestly they have green tint to them, so for a driver they are okay. These seats are very good shape overall with good cushion, probably worth $500 as cores to someone who needs them. Overall the interior is pretty clean, this is something that I for sure would take my wife out on a date in, it is notdirty inside, very clean, for a truck that has been driven and enjoyed, original door panels are in nice shape. The dash pad is in excellent shape no cracks. Steering wheel is also in very good condition. The dash area is clean, non smoker truck. The original floor mat is in great condition, has a few small tears but overall nice. Headliner is in nice condition. Very nice looking inside not perfect but very nice for a driver and very comfortable to ride in. The windshield is in great condition, no cracks or major chips Thedoor glass rolls down nicely, and wing window work. Overall a great looking interior. All in all the truck is a great old truck, but just needs some sorting out, but nothing major.

Here is what works and does not work. All the exterior lights work, but the reverse lights are not hooked up at the transmission, and the rear lic. Plate light, is intermittent. The gauges in the dash are working besides the temp gauge and oil gauge, as you will see an external Oil and Temp gauge are installed and work, and it has fantastic oil pressure.Dome and dash lights are not working currently. The Horn, and heater –fan work good. Speedometer and Odometer are working as well. The radio is not working, I have not really looked to see why, just does not turn on, it does have a remote, I just have not had time to look at it, I did try to hook speakers up to it, to see if I got sound, but nothing. The door glass rolls up and down, tinted glass, side glass and rear window, with slider. The drivers door lock works with the key, the passengers side door lock locks, but will not unlock with key.

This is a truck that you can take in parades, use at the local farmers market, put your business logo on, and enjoy at the local cruise-ins. This truck was not built to be a show truck, though you will be able to show it anytime you like, you may not win any big awards, but you’ll have a great time.

I have been selling classic cars here on eBay since 2003, 12 years now, with around 600 classic cars sold over the internet. What I love about these old cars, is that I get to own some of my favorite cars one at a time, I have turned this passion into a business, but for me it is an awesome time to enjoy the cars themselves. It has been such a joy to do business with people all over the world. I have sold multiple cars to many buyers all over from Europe, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, just to name a few. It has always been a pleasure, getting to know other car enthusiast all over the Continent, especially some that have become very good friends of mine because of our love for cars. I look forward to doing business here on ebay for many years to come, and look forward to meeting some other like minded classic car nuts like myself. If you would like to call me and talk about the car, that would be great, would love to help you out, if you want to call and talk about cars, it would be my pleasure, I am on the hunt for any Interesting classics, odd ball and unique vehicles. Please, come out and personally take a look at it in person, or send a friend or inspector, or transporter, always better if possible to see it with your own eyes, I am close to major airport, and easy to get to. These are classic vehicles, with lots of history, almost years old, so they are used, not perfect, they don’t have warranties, or guarantees, they are as is, where is, nothing else is promised, I can’t possibly explain every little thing about a vehicle in writing, believe me I've tried, lol, seeing in person is always best, I try to give an good description, and normally over 75 photos at least, so you can get a good gauge of what it is, and isn’t. Look forward to hearing from you, please give me a call, 503-910-2085 - Jason
