This is an early cageless midget race car, probably dating from the mid 1930's. Included are some extra chassis components and 2 early cast block V8-60 engine cores. It's my understanding that early midget race cars used many different drivetrain combinations; Ford V8-60's, but various 4 cylinders, tractor engines, outboard motors etc. I have no idea of what powered this particular car. Wheelbase is approximately 78 inches. The fuel tank sits behind the seat, the dashboard holds 2 gauges and the 12inch wire wheels are like nothing I've seen before.
This is an early example, I'm told, due to the lack of a headrest bubble on the back/top of the body, which began to be added just before WWII and found on almost all midgets after the war. The steel body itself looks professionally made; the fairing and other bead rolling seem factory. But that's it. Everything else is obviously low buck. I have ZERO knowledge of any history that this car may have. The white color appears to be spray bomb and certainly not original to the car. There is black paint under the white. Ignore the mileage and title info appearing in the auction; that info is incorrect but required by Ebay for listing purposes.
Please ask for additional pics if you want to see something not shown here. I have lowered my reserve significantly.
