Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car, n sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, n order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.
West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely stunning and exceptional example of this original 1982 Zimmer Golden Spirit Coupe
Zimmer is an American neo-classic automaker which still makes cars today with a MSRP's starting at $218K and going to well over $276K! The company was founded in New York in 1978 by Paul Zimmer and the 'Zimmer Motorcar' Corporation's flagship model was the Golden Spirit with only 1,500 models being produced between 1978-1988. They set the standard of quality and precision work for the coming demand for neo-classic or retro-cars. The original Golden Spirit was originally built using a Mercury Cougar chassis and drivetrain but when the rear-wheel-drive Cougar was discontinued, he transition to the Ford Mustang was completed and the upgraded 5.0L V8 went on to be the power plant behind this classic model for the next 10 years of production. The company went into bankruptcy after Paul Zimmer's death in 1988 and in 1997, rt Zimmer, who remarkably apparently had no relationship to the original Zimmer family despite having the same surname!) purchased the rights to the company and they continue to make automobiles on a limited basis of 10-20 cars per year priced at well over $200K to this day.
This 1982 Zimmer Golden Spirit has a look that is completely different than any other classic. Large swooping fenders, hrome front horns, arge chrome grill. Owned by celebrities and rock stars like Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmy Velvet and you know Elvis Presley would have been the first to order such a magnificent piece of showmanship should he have lived just a few more years! This particular example is coated in the original two-tone 'Creme White' over 'Tan' paint with the rear mounted spare and dual side mounted spares on both the passengers and drivers side, arge front headlights and circle taillights. Fog lights are also in place in front of each side mirror. The car rides around on striking chrome spoke wheels with the correct 'Z' Zimmer centercaps. Under the hood of this classic is the smooth running 5 liter 302 V8. On each side of the Black/Brushed air cleaner is the finned valve covers. The drive train is the original 1982 Mustang drivetrain and fits perfectly under the body. Inside this classic you will find an all leather Beige interior that continues with that theme of luxury. The high back Recaro bucket seats are extremely comfortable and are separated by a nice center console. On the console and dash you will find wood accents that are in great condition. All of the gauges work as they should as do all of the knobs/switches. The A/C system blows nice and cold through vents inset into the dash and the Kenwood AM/FM/Cassette player delivers a great sound.
The premise of the Zimmer Company was to build neo-classic cars; cars that embodied the spirit and the looks of the classic cars from the 1920s and '30s but which were built in modern times with modern production and modern luxury. The flagship model was the Golden Spirit with the Ford Mustang 5.0 liter 320 horsepower engine with an automatic transmission.
