This highly desirable white with red leather roadster, absolutely defies showing it’s age, and still day shows very strong. No, this is not a German-made sports car, it’s strictly British,. built by an old UK-based automaker called Daimler (not to be mistaken with Daimler-Benz, which we all know is German). The SP250 was the last car produced by Daimler, before it was sold to Jaguar.
The Daimler SP250 was a British Built Luxury Sports car built to compete with the Jaguar XK140, Austin Healey & Aston Martin. It was not only ahead of its time with a Fiberglass body, Alloy head 16 Valve Hemi Head V8 and front disc brakes, but it was also a luxury car capable of 125 mph. with a full hand-stitched leather interior and built by hand to exacting standards. The management of Daimler decided to make a large number of the car’s features optional extras because automotive import duties into the United States were not applied to optional extras. Wire wheels, Whitewall tires Adjustable steering column Hard top Front and rear bumpers Windscreen washers eater fog lights Seat belts Overdrive or automatic gearbox were listed as options.
Recently refinished in Old English white, this fiberglass bodied roadster shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. All the trim is present and is brilliant and displays normal wear. The optional front and rear bumpers (equipped with over-riders) fit is extremely tight and finish is exquisite. The weather-stripping is pliable, with little or no signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. The wire wheels represent well with no major signs of marring or curb rash. The black canvass convertible top fits very well with no visible tearing, and the three rear windows are extremely clear. The car has a black boot that functions as designed and is in great condition.
Inside, the rich red leather front bucket seats and rear cargo compartment and all look great with no major signs of wear visible. The matching red door panels, carpet and dashboard are a striking contrast to the white exterior of the car and look fantastic. All gauges are have correct appearance and function as originally designed. It should be noted that the windscreen wipers and horn are inoperable. The “banjo” style steering wheel and red leather dashboard adds to the period feel.
This nicely represented Daimler is equipped with a 140hp, SU carburetor, 2.5L aluminum hemispherical head V8 matted to a 3-speed automatic transmission, Girling 4 wheel disc brakes, adjustable steering column, heater, front and rear bumpers, dual exhaust and 15 inch original wire wheels with knock off center caps!
Who needs a Delorean?,when you can fly back to the sixties in this 2200 lb, 120 mph Daimler time machine!…hold on to your tweed cap and GET OUT AND DRIVE!
Current mileage on the odometer 2,005, It is sold as is on a clean & clear mileage exempt Missouri title.
