1968 Opel Kadett Additional Info:
Up for sale is my 1968 Opel Kadett 2 door wagon. It is almost all original, and unmolested. It runs great and drives well. It was a lifelong Arizona car, and has no cancer anywhere. When i took the brake lines off, they came apart like butter. It has a completely rebuilt engine by an ASE certified master mechanic, me. The crankshaft was cleaned and polished, all new gaskets and seals and bearings, new piston on cylinder #1 and all new rings, the other 3 were bead blasted and went easy on the skirts. Block was dipped and all ports and passages cleaned. cylinder head was completely redone, new valves and installed hardened valve seats for unleaded fuel. Timing chain and water pump are new, has polished GT valve cover. New 7 blade fan, cleaned heater core and valve. New weber 32/36 Weber carb. Have original with powdercoated original air cleaner and a new fuel pump. The front end has been completely rebuilt. Frame cross member, all 4 control arms have been powder coated.all new ball joints, tie rods, bump stops, shocks brake hoses.Leaf spring shackles and all rubber parts have been replaced or upgraded to polyurethane. All control bushings and rack bushings are polyurethane. New steering rag joint. New brake shoes and wheel cylinders have been installed, and all fluids have been replaced and new tires. The cluster has been refreshed and a factory rally tach installed instead of the clock. it has a new windshield and rubber, all windows have new rubbers except drivers and passengers front doors. This is not only a rare rust free find, its a rare car with a one year only engine, the 1.5L. Being in the Arizona desert for many years dry rotted the rubber out of it which most has been replaced. The original paint is just that, original. The patina is nice and has been rubbed down with linseed oil to preserve it. If you have any questions, please ask before you bid.
