1953 Oldsmobile Other Additional Info:
My first car was a 53 Olds S 88. Bought this one owner, 85k mile example in 1988. Had forgotten how well the suspension, steering and brakes worked-NOT. After driving it a few years, I had a late 80's GM front end grafted onto it spending extra money to retain the original look for the steering wheel and gear shift-ie; no tilt wheel. I then disassembled it intending a full paint and chrome redo. Got as far as bead blasting and priming and storing it in my barn as a target for pigeons for 20+ years. started it up a few years ago with good intentions but life got in the way. Just came across the rechroming bill-$3,000 from Frankford plating in Phila. All the parts are inside with the re chromed pieces still in their bubble rap. Car needs a few dents taken care of, repaint and reassembly. Interior is serviceable but really should be redone. All the parts are there including full set of original spinner hubcaps. Downsizing my collection and no realistic hope of finishing this car so someone else gets the pleasure.
