1968 Oldsmobile Toronado Additional Info:

For Sale Here Is One Beautiful 1968 Oldsmobile Toronado In Immaculate Over-All Condition. I've Owned This Very Rare Car For 30 Years And Have Had It Stored In Climate Controlled Storage For 24 Years Taking Care Of It As If It Were Still On The Road. It Needs Motor Repair, robably Bearing Or Valves As There Is A Bad Knock Which Was The Reason I Took Her Off The Road. Unfortunately, 've Not Had The Opportunity To Repair Her. So, s I Am Not Getting Any Younger, Have Decided To Part With This Great Auto. Having An Extremely Fine, bony, eep-Black Paint Job That Is About 29 Years Old, t's In Better Shape Now Then Original, nd Due To The Untold Amount Of Hand-Wax Jobs, t Has Given The Paint Great Depth. The Entire Car Is Straight And Solid As A Rock And All Body Parts Original. The Grained Vinyl Roof Is The Same Age And Also Has Developed A Deep Patina Due To The Years Of Antioxidants And Leather-Care Products Used On It. The Stainless Steel And Chrome Of Which There Is A Lot Of, s All In Beautiful Condition As Well; The Bumpers Have A Few Issues But Are Very Presentable. The Motor Is An Early Replacement... A 1972 455 Which I Took Out Of A Mint-Condition Olds 98 And Totally Overhauled It Before Installing In This Toro; I Also Used All The 1968 Goodies On It For More Hp Such As The Carb, istributor, anifold, pecial Oil Pan Etc. I Spent A Few Weeks Just Cleaning The The Motor Alone, nside And Out. I Installed An Extra Interior Gage For Temp And Oil Pressure, nd Also One In The Motor Compartment As Well. When I stored The Car, Completely Drained Oil And Trans And Radiator And Brake Fluid And Put All New Fluids In. The Motor, efore It Suddenly Developed The Knock, as Running Superbly. I Had Put About 40,000 Highway Miles On And Never Drove Her In Bad Weather. This Car Had Great Power And If You've Never Driven An Early Toro You Will Have A Great Experience As It Drives Like No Other Car And You Never Want To stop....This Car Was Made To GO! The Early Scientific Engineering Was Started In The Early 60's By The Top People At GM And They Created A Masterpiece Which Was To Become The Car Of The Year In 1966, he First Year Of Toronado Production. The Early, 6-69 Or First-Generation Toros' Are The Best By Far And Are The Most Sought After And Rare. Since The Day I Bought The Car I Have Used All Types Of Anti-Rust Products Throughout, nderneath, nd Everywhere Possible So It Has Remained Rust Free....And The Wiring, tc., as Always Been Treated With Silicone And Is In Great Shape. The Engine Compartment As Well As Entire Car Is Super-Clean And Detailed So Taking The Motor Out For Work Will Be Very Easy As You Won't Find A Drop Of Dirt Or Grease Anywhere In The Engine Compartment. The Motor Also Has Been Turned Over Periodically By Hand And Filled With "Marvel Mystery Oil" Completely And Cylinders Have Been Treated With It As Well! Having Much Extra Chrome, tainless-Steel Trim, ourtesy Lights, ir, ower Seats, ower Windows, ower Steering, ower Antennae, ower Trunk, inted Windshield, ower Control To Conceal The Headlights, nd A Very Fine Stereo System... Kenwood, raig, larion, ith Cassette It Stands Out! The White, olled Seats And Interior Were Redone Before I Acquired The Car And Have Been Cared For Meticulously And Are Now In Great Shape With No Drying Out, ut A Couple Of Issues In Driver Arm Rest And Seat....Nothing Bad. The Dash Is In Beautiful Like-New Condition And It Has Been Treated As The Rest Of Car. The Amazing Engineering Of These Early Toros' With The Torsion Bar Suspension, Rear Shocks (2 Vertical And 2 Horizontal) Along With The Aerodynamics And Weight Distribution, ade This Car Far Ahead Of It's Time, nd Even By Today's Standards, his Car Is GREAT! Ask Jay Leno, e Has One And Has Stated On TV That It Was Or Is One Of His Favorite Cars! So, aving Said All Of This, Will Still Have To Sell The Car AS IS Being It's Been Off The Road All This Time, ut I Think With A Bit Of $$ And Effort The New Owner Will Be More Than Happy With His Or Her Purchase.
