Classic American Street Rod 1929 Oldsmobile F-29 Touring Sedan All-Steel Body • Chevrolet 350 V8 • Automatic Transmission Driver-Quality Street Rod • Inspection Welcome • No Trades 1929 Oldsmobile Street Rod

For sale is a 1929 Oldsmobile F-29 Touring Sedan street rod powered by a Chevrolet 350 small-block V8 and a three-speed automatic transmission.

This is a real all-steel Oldsmobile body, not a fiberglass reproduction. The car combines traditional late-1920s styling with a Chevrolet V8, automatic transmission, front disc brakes, custom gauges, wire wheels, and a roomy four-door interior.

This is an older street rod build that has been driven and enjoyed. The car starts, runs, drives, shifts, and stops. The body, paint, and interior still present well, but this should be considered a driver-quality car, not a freshly completed restoration or flawless show car.

It can be enjoyed as it sits while the next owner addresses a few areas and continues improving it over time.

Highlights ✓ Real all-steel four-door body
✓ Chevrolet 350 small-block V8
✓ Three-speed automatic transmission
✓ Front disc brakes
✓ Straight front axle
✓ Headers and dual exhaust
✓ Aluminum radiator ✓ Chrome wire wheels
✓ Black paint with red pinstriping
✓ Custom interior
✓ Wood-grain dashboard
✓ Classic Instruments gauges
✓ Tilt steering column
✓ Air-conditioning components installed Exterior and Body

The all-steel body is finished in gloss black with red pinstriping. The black paint, chrome wire wheels, chrome headlights, running boards, and rear bumper give the car a traditional street rod appearance.

The front doors are rear-hinged in a suicide-door configuration. The four-door body makes getting into both the front and rear seats easier than it would be in a typical two-door street rod. The tall Touring Sedan body also provides good passenger room.

The exterior presents well overall, but it is an older build. The paint and trim have normal imperfections and signs of use. Please look closely at the photographs and ask about any area you would like to see in more detail.

Condition: This is a good-looking driver, not a freshly painted or concours-level show car. Engine and Drivetrain

Power comes from a Chevrolet 350 small-block V8 with a four-barrel carburetor, finned aluminum valve covers, a matching aluminum air cleaner, tubular headers, and dual exhaust.

The engine is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Using a Chevrolet small-block also makes replacement parts and routine service easier to find than they would be for the original 1929 drivetrain.

The engine compartment includes polished components, braided lines, an aluminum radiator, an electric cooling fan, and air-conditioning hardware.

Mechanical condition:
The Oldsmobile starts, runs, drives, shifts, and stops. Minor engine-oil seepage is visible around the oil-pan area. Since this is an older custom-built vehicle, other fluid seepage or leaks may also be present and have not been fully diagnosed. An inspection is encouraged, especially if the buyer plans to drive the car a long distance after purchase. Chassis, Brakes, and Suspension
  • Front disc brakes
  • Straight front axle
  • Traditional leaf-spring suspension
  • Rear-wheel drive
  • Chrome wire wheels with Oldsmobile center caps
  • Headers and dual exhaust
Interior and Gauges

The custom interior is in good overall condition and fits the style of the car. The dashboard has a polished wood-grain finish with white-faced Classic Instruments gauges.

The instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, tachometer, and supporting engine gauges. The car is also equipped with a tilt steering column.

The tall four-door body provides plenty of room for passengers and makes the car more practical than many prewar street rods.

Mileage: The odometer reading should not be considered the actual mileage on the body, engine, transmission, or completed build. Mileage is exempt due to the age of the vehicle, and the true mileage is unknown. Equipment and Features
  • Black exterior with red pinstriping
  • Chrome wire wheels
  • Rear-hinged front suicide doors
  • Opening rear side vents
  • Tinted windows
  • Classic Instruments gauges
  • Tilt steering column
  • Air-conditioning components installed
  • Aluminum radiator and electric cooling fan
  • Finned aluminum valve covers and matching air cleaner
  • Headers and dual exhaust
Known Issues

This is an older driver-quality street rod, not a newly completed professional build. I want to describe the car honestly so a buyer knows what to expect before coming to see it or arranging transportation.

  • The wiring works in many areas, but it is untidy and could use a proper inspection and cleanup. A future owner may choose to repair sections of it or rewire the car.
  • Minor engine-oil seepage is visible around the oil-pan area. Other fluid seepage or leaks may also be present and have not been fully diagnosed.
  • The air-conditioning components are installed, but the air conditioning is not currently working.
  • The car has normal paint, trim, and cosmetic imperfections expected from an older street rod that has been driven.
  • The odometer does not show verified actual mileage.
  • Like most older custom cars, it may need additional maintenance, adjustments, electrical work, or repairs as it continues to be driven.

I have not tested every gauge, switch, light, accessory, seal, or custom component. Buyers are encouraged to look the car over carefully or have it professionally inspected before purchasing.

Not Another Model A

Ford Model A street rods are common. An all-steel 1929 Oldsmobile F-29 Touring Sedan is not. This car has the traditional prewar street rod look while standing apart from the Ford and Chevrolet builds normally seen at local shows and cruise nights.

The Chevrolet V8, automatic transmission, front disc brakes, custom gauges, wire wheels, and four-door body make it a usable street rod that can carry more than two people comfortably.

This would be a good car for someone who wants a running and driving prewar street rod with attractive paint and interior, but does not mind cleaning up wiring, chasing down seepage or leaks, and improving an older build over time.

Inspection and Questions

In-person inspections are welcome. Buyers may also arrange for a qualified third-party inspector to look over the car before purchasing.

I can provide additional photographs of specific areas upon request. Please ask any questions before purchasing, especially if there is a particular feature or component that is important to you.

Please do not assume an accessory or feature is working unless it is specifically described as working or has been confirmed before the sale. Pickup and Shipping

The car is located in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. Local pickup is welcome, or the buyer can arrange transportation through a carrier of their choice.

I am happy to work with the buyer and transport company to help make pickup as easy as possible. Shipping arrangements and costs are the buyer's responsibility.

The car and title will be released after payment has cleared. Please contact me before purchasing if you want to discuss pickup, shipping, or timing.

Terms of Sale

This 1929 Oldsmobile is being sold as-is and where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied.

This is a 97-year-old vehicle with a custom drivetrain and older street rod construction. Future reliability or performance cannot be guaranteed.

The description and photographs are intended to give an honest overview of the car, but they are not a substitute for an in-person inspection. Buyers are encouraged to inspect the vehicle or hire an independent inspector before purchasing.

The listing may be ended early if the vehicle is no longer available.
