So here’s the deal!
First off I ALWAYS try to be as honest as possible whenever I list anything on here or anywhere else that’s for sale(this car I’m only listing on here for a short time only).
Believe it or not I really don’t even want to sell this car(and most likely won’t but since this is a free listing I’ll throw it out there this one time), I’m just motivated at the moment to sell several vehicles and every vehicle that’s on here as of today 8/3/26 is priced wayyyy CHEAPER than it should be!
After I move 5 this listing is coming down quickly(I just need to reduce my amount of vehicles I have at home for a few reasons).
So here’s what all I can tell you about this car.
This car belonged to my late brother who passed away back in 2006 and the last time it was driven was back in 2006 by me and at that time it ran and drove great.
But, it sat in his old warehouse ever since with several other vehicles(some were my vehicles too and mine were held hostage from me by my late brother’s lunatic wife for many years and FINALLY a few months back I settled to get my vehicle’s and a few of my late brother’s vehicles and this was one of them, this one I planned on keeping forever).
So here’s the deal with it.
The pics of it show it on a rollback whenever it came to me, it was filthy as you can see in pics, I cleaned it up some, I put brand new RWL tires in it, I bought new Hurst Olds floor mats for it, I bought a new center console lid for it, I also bought new wheel center cap decals and red stripes for wheels for it(no put on yet), and I bought a Hurst emblem for it that I put in center of dash near radio to cover up a little crack that it had there.
A month later I sent to a local mechanic shop who I used a couple of times before(but on newer more modern vehicles) and they told me it needed a new starter, a new fuel pump, a new sending unit for fuel pump, a new carb for it, so I got all of this and they got it up and running(I personally heard it run) BUT it has a bad water leak at water neck so I ordered a new water neck for it and whenever they were removing bolts for water neck on intake the bolts broke and then they didn’t want to work on it anymore! Two brothers own shop, one is cool but the other one is a D and the cool one wanted to continue working on it but the other one said that it was too old for their mechanics to work on???!!!
So, from here I sent to my mechanic I’ve used for 27 plus years.
And he told me that it has a crack in its block somewhere SOOOO I knew I didn’t want to mess with its BS factory 307 joke of a motor anyway so I found what’s supposed to be a great running Olds 350 with a fresh lower end rebuild and I bought it.
Personally, I’ve never heard it run(obviously), but seller had perfect fb MP reviews and he seemed super honest so I bought it(I was seeing Olds 350 motors for more $ that needed rebuilding so…).
He has LS swapped his vehicle and his buddy needed its intake so what you see in pics is how I bought it minus transmission that was attached to it(I didn’t need it).
My mechanic is just kind of d’n me around on even working on it(this isn’t the first time this has happened in the almost 3 decades that I’ve used him).
It went to him on May 1st, I bought motor and I had it delivered on June 23, and you can see a screenshot of text messages July 6, and then on July 29 where I followed up on it BUT yet nothing at all has been done to it???!!!
He called me back on July 30 and he told me that he was short handed and is looking for an additional mechanic but that he plans on getting on it by himself soon(but to me honest and realistic WTF knows whenever this guy will actually get on it???)!!!
On one hand, it’s not at my home where much needed space is needed so it’s currently out of my way BUT last year my 93 Camaro that’s listed on here was there at his shop for an aftermarket alarm issue and it was there a year and a half for that!
Soooooooooo, I’m complatating on what I should do here???!!!
He’s a good guy and a good mechanic BUT this isn’t what I had in mind whenever it was sent to him!
My late brother bought this car back in 1997(in fact it was his longest owned vehicle ever, it was just one of his toys that he literally drove probably under a dozen times in all of the years he owned it).
All he ever did to it was have a new Edelbrock carb put on it, have a new flow master exhaust put on it, and new tires put on it and a new battery and that was it).
Car possibly was repainted at one time(definitely not by my late brother), I say this because it doesn’t have its original Hurst Stripe Kit on it.
It has a dent on driver’s side door at right side edge(no clue how that happened), and it’s really biggest pick is car has a little bit of rust happening on area each side of front windshield, a little on side or sides of top, and possibly this is it, definitely is not a rust bucket nor was it ever from an area that sees snow and salt.
It’s weird, this any my 74 Ranchero GT that’s listed were both parked next to each other and these are the only 2 vehicles that broke out with some bubbling, rot issues?.
These are easy to address issues!
I’ve owned 7 silver Hurst Olds over the years and I’ve owned a few worse than this car.
Underneath is solid, in fact since first mechanic shop it was at has it up in the air swapping its fuel tank I paid them an extra $150 to undercoat underneath so that would be freshened up.
Sorry but I won’t be giving anyone my mechanic’s address to go look at it(of course I’ll give it if I’m paid for in full for it for pick up, I don’t want anyone wasting his time on it if I end up selling it without him getting to work on it and I don’t want any issues with him in case he finishes it for me).
It is what it is! If you can’t understand what all I’m saying here it’s not for you and please just move on(not trying to be rude).
Price is fair and it’s very FIRM(I’m very aware how much $ these baby’s sell for and it’s definitely going to be a huge plus for someone like me who does not like the BS 307’s that these originally came with).
And we all know these are going to SKYROCKET in value like ALL older muscle cars are doing!
$8,950 again is FIRM FIRM FIRM…
If someone did buy and need it shipped to them I would think that there’s some auto transporter’s who will carry replacement motor separately for a fee(to be fair you would need to pay my mechanic something, probably a bill to him for his help loading it up).
Heck, a lot is transporter’s who are hauling a truck with their haul could even put replacement motor in the bed of a truck for a small fee(I always recommend my auto transporter of many decades for all of my buyers tranporting needs).
Again, replacement motor needs an intake.
Last, I put miles at 99,999 BUT note its history report which I’ve included in pics, odometer has 26,xxx miles showing and if you look at history report it doesn’t show it to me 126,xxx or more!
I never discussed it’s miles with my late brother but miles on it appears to be actual miles to me which is another awesome addition to it(my late brother mostly played with it from 1997-1999 and was basically just driven around the block several times per year from 1999-2006). He probably didn’t put over 500 miles on this car in all of these years, believe it or not!
Thanks for looking…
