Vehicle Details
It is a solid car and ready for someone who has the time and know how to restore her! Just needs mostly cosmetic work and a little mechanical. Since I bought it, I’ve focused on the mechanical side as that was more important to me. The carburetor has been rebuilt but is missing some linkage - including that to the transmission though it still shifts. Engine runs well as long as you keep on the throttle some. It doesn’t want to idle. That is really the extent of the mechanical needs, other than the usual maintenance needs which its current on. The following are the other needs, none of which keep her from being a good local driver, but which you can decide what’s most important to you. Besides carburetor work, the car has had all ignition components replaced had camshaft replaced and changed from a traditional fuel pump to electronic fuel pump. Gas tank has been removed and cleaned out. Tires are good for now if you don’t drive it long distance but will need replaced in the near future. Drum brakes need adjustment. Power steering works fine. All belts and hoses good shape. Battery is good. No rust under the hood and only surface in the trunk. Engine had a compression check last spring, and with a good report. I’m letting it go for the listed price because of the improvements listed below. Some may be important and urgent to you and others maybe not. I am in no way getting back what I’ve invested, but I am not able anymore to do the things necessary to bring the car up to where I want her. If you have time, some required ability and/or the money to invest, even a little at a time, she will make you a good project car and also serve as a good local driver. I bought it in Indiana. I’ve kept it under a roof for as long as I’ve had it (2010). Odometer says 24k. I think I’ve disclosed it all here. Let me know if you are interested in moving forward, and we can go from there.
Items still needed to complete restoration:
1. Replace inside panels of two front doors
2. Replace floor panels (included with car)
3. Replace headliner
4. Replace rubber seals around doors
5. Re-upholster front seat
6. Paint
7. Mechanical items listed above
