1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Convertible - Automatic- $150,000 USD
There are great muscle cars, there are rare ones, and then there is this 1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 convertible. Only 110 W-30 convertibles were built in 1971. However, this is just 1 of 10 ever built in a convertible with factory air conditioning. This car was restored with obsessive precision and preserved with reverence. It retains all of its original metal and original glass. The broadcast sheet, window sticker, and trim tag represent exactly what this car is(aside from the color change). This car was originally matador red. I had the car painted my favorite GM one year only color, 1970 Oldsmobile rally red. Rest assured it is quite unlikely to ever find another genuine 71 442 W-30 rag top car in rally red. Thenew set of Firestone Wide Oval tires on SSIII wheels are documentation correct for this car. However, I upgraded to 15 inch on the radial tire version G70 tires for a more enjoyable ride. The tires are so new you can still see the blue. I also have a set of SSI wheels on Goodyear Polyglas G70 letter tires which are period correct. The buyer can pick which wheels they prefer with the vehicle. This car stands as the undisputed face of the 1971 442 legacy. Everything is correct, it’s fully documented, and has a numbers matching drivetrain. She has won many trophies at numerous car shows, and I anticipate there will be many more victories to come.

OWNERSHIP HISTORY:
This 1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 was built in February 1971 and delivered new to Oldsmobile Motor Division in California. It was then purchased and resided in California until 1985. The original owner moved to Scottsdale, AZ where the car has since survived. The car was later sold in 2004 to the original owner’s family member, a local collector and good friend of mine. The second owner did a complete frame off rotisserie restoration between 2012-2013. He passed away in 2023, and I acquired the car on consignment from his widow in 2024. Considering this is one of my dream cars, I ended up purchasing it from her for my birthday in April 2025. I made the decision to have this W30 painted the very rare 1970 only rally red color. For unforeseen reasons I have to sell a car from my personal collection, so here is an opportunity for someone to own a true rolling gem.
