Please note that we have driven this car over 50 miles in the past couple weeks. During that time the car was completely reliable, has absolutely no issues, and was a true pleasure to drive.
Besides the correct paint and trim codes, this Cutlass is "Numbers Matching" meaning the engine and transmission in the car are the correct and original units that were installed in the car new at the factory in 1971. The last six digits of the VIN, 146066, are stamped on the engine pad, pictured in this ad, and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured.
As a side note, this Oldsmobile Cutlass is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Cutlass, just give us a call.
ExteriorThe black exterior is in excellent driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has a terrific gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. The original color matched wheels are in great condition with an brilliant finish and no curb rash. The Firestone Indy 500 raised white letter tires have plenty of tread left and are sized 225/70R14. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. The vinyl top has some small imperfections on the top of the roof and there are some very tiny blemishes around the car that were too faint to show up in the pictures, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five feet away. As one can see in the many underside photos of the car it is very clean underneath. The frame is solid and we have also included specific photos of the rear spring mounts, rockers, lower quarter panels, and the area's most prone to rust to show how this Cutlass looks.
Window Date Codes

Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.

InteriorThe Black interior in this Cutlass is in absolutely outstanding condition. The seats are almost like brand new in fantastic shape and look as great in person as they do in the photos with no split seams, holes, or excessive wear. Please note the seat is not worn in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The woodgrain trim inside looks great with no delamination. The carpet is also in wonderful condition with no stains, holes, or tears. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The door panels are in excellent shape and the door pulls are solid and intact. The dash and console are in great condition with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The trunk is clean and comes with the jack, full size spare tire, and matching rim. This Cutlass has not been smoked in; there are no burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes
MechanicalThis Cutlass seems to be in great mechanical condition. As stated above, we have put over 50 miles on the car with no problems at all. The numbers matching engine starts right away every time and runs well. It drives great and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations or strange noises and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes do not pull to one side or the other. The previous owner had the brakes gone through and converted to disc in the front. The shifter is tight and the transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. The car runs cool and does not overheat. This Olds has plenty of power and sounds great. The previous owner had a nice exhaust made for the car, as seen in the underside photos. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos.
The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, dash lights, indicators, wipers, and all of the gauges. Even very detailed items like the key buzzer still work. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds. The air conditioning itself blows ice cold, it has been updated and converted to R134. The compressor can be seen clicking on and engaging properly in the video. The car does drip some fluid. This Cutlass has a very healthy exhaust note as one can hear in the video. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car.
Overall ConditionOverall, this 1972 Cutlass Supreme is in magnificent driver condition. The beautiful color combination, and the excellent overall condition make this car especially important and hard to duplicate. It is very hard to find a Cutlass from this era that is still in great original shape as most were used and abused. This always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. Cutlass prices have increased considerably over the past several years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
