This 1968 Cutlass was 4 years to complete. I've driven it pretty sparingly 3 years or so since it was restored. The LS3 is out of a corvette, 2010 I think and had 35K miles on it when it was pulled. The vette was hit on the driver side rear. The motor was gone through, re-sealed, etc... but is pretty much a stock vette 6.2-LS3. Ceramic (matte black) coated headers with, what I consider, pretty cool covers with CUTLS3$ on the covers. A 4L60E trans. As far as parts and pieces, everything else was standard resto-mod, tubular suspension, 4 wheel Willwood disc brakes. Hotchkiss stabilizer kit, the better one. Tilt steering, with 9 screw steering wheel. Dakota gauges, with custom made, leather clad dash with carbon fiber back plate. Brand new "retro" Hurst his and hers dual gate shifter. Custom center console. Vintage AC, big custom radiator. The plug in port is under the dash, very accessible, and the ECM is in the console. The side panels of the console are velcro'd in to access the ECM. The convertible pump is brand new and the conv frame was rebuilt when the brand new (GLASS rear window) conv top was installed. The rebuilt power seats are out of a 2006 Cadillac XLR. 17x8 in the front and 18x8 rear. 70+% tread left on the tires. Western Differential installed the brand new 342 posi gears in the 12 bolt rear end. Custom driveshaft. GPS speedometer, so you can change anything on the drivetrain and the speedometer will always/still be accurate. The LS3 hand painted logo in the rally stripe is over the clear, so if you want to change that, it's pretty simple. Extra clear was added to the bottom 10" of the car to help offset rock chipping. (I drive the car whenever I can) Taken down to bare metal, dash removed, rear quarters cut out and replaced. Every piece of trim was sent to a fab shop, refurbished and polished. Frame was also stripped and painted. Underside of the car was undercoated and everything was polyurethane'd. It will never rust again. KonnectedKustoms did all the paint and body work and it comes with a lifetime warranty. The paint is amazing, you can see your eyelashes in the paint. In one of the pictures of the painted sheet metal, the paint appears to be textured. It's actually a reflection of the ceiling insulation above where the painted piece was sitting. The interior guy did a solid job with double stitching, but he stitched both the sun visors the same way, so stitching faces up on one visor and down on the other. All seatbelts are in place and function as they should. Audio2000 did the dash, console and stereo. They are true craftsmen. You can barely tell the rear speakers are there, they look like part of the original interior, and custom front speakers in footboards. Seeing his work, you know why people send customs to him from all over the country. The initial wiring harness wasn't great, so I had Crown Customs redo the entire wiring of the car, everything! Headlights to taillights and everything in between. The trunk was speckled, carpeted and paneled. Here's the not so great: the brand new body bushings squeak a little when you first start driving it. The backlight on the gauges stopped working, but it stopped working on all three gauges. All other digital power functions work perfectly on the gauges. The fuel pump in the fuel tank is loud-ish/noisy. You can't hear it from inside the car, but if you are standing behind the car you can. This is not a $250K Kindigit Custom. It is however, a top-end resto-mod that can be driven from coast to coast. I chose a Cutlass originally because it was not a camaro, chevelle, GTO, etc... I love it when people come up to me and say "I love your car!!! what is it?" Overall, the car is shiny as hell, sounds freakin awesome! comfortable ride, really great stereo and never, NEVER overheats. Not even in AZ summers with the AC going. The AC was just serviced (fixed a leak) and works very well! Everything, horn, turn signals, wipers...work! Not the cigarette lighter. I did get caught in an afternoon rain a year or so back and I can tell you the top does not leak! Hard to believe, but it doesn't. I got receipts for all of this. I've got a 65 ragtop Tempest in the hopper and I'm ready to move on to that one. I don't need to sell this car, I'm choosing to. If it doesn't sell, I'll just keep it. I added some finished product pics. With the power top (works great) up so you could see the glass window. Another not so great is the rear window weather trim. 2 new ones in the trunk. What can I tell you, it's AZ! Tops down 97% of the time!
