There's just something great about the 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible. They have one of the best designs of the era from a GM division that provided both speed and luxury. With a strong, numbers matching 350 V8 and a quick shifting 4-speed, the only thing surprising on this feature-filled drop top is the low price. Bright Yellow and black stripes look perfect on this Olds. This "look at me" hue highlights the sophistication of the '60s era... Olds that goes beyond horsepower. The blend of performance and luxury that Oldsmobile offered is embodied in this Cutlass ragtop. The body is sporty, with dramatic curves, flared fenders, and a handsome front end that was instantly recognizable as being from the rocket division. It's not aggressive or over-blown, but rather has a look that the factory would approve of. This is an upscale muscle car with a solid, but not perfect, paint job that looks fantastic when this convertible is bombing down the road. It does indulge in black sport stripes and a couple "442" badges, which on this car just adds to the chic appearance because they coordinate so well with the black vinyl top and interior. But what really makes this convertible so attractive is everything fits together exactly the way the factory assembled it more than four decades ago. Even the chrome is still decently bright, although q small investment in tis department would really spruce things up a bit and provide a wonderful contrast. All-in-all, this is a very handsome muscle car. Choosing a black interior with the yellow paint was the right decision, and that's why it came from the factory in this factory code 930 black vinyl. The front buckets have been upgraded to ProCar units with added bolster support and modern comfort, and the dash top is very new as well. Oldsmobiles were about offering the luxurious extras, and this one carries that tradition perfectly. You'll feel it from the moment you step inside, from gripping the factory-style four-spoke steering wheel, to the original air conditioning system that's been upgraded to R134a refrigerant. The factory options don't stop there, because this one comes with almost power everything - power brakes, power steering, power windows, and a power folding roof with glass rear window. Other luxury items include the middle console and tachometer and the three under-dash auxiliary gauges that help the driver keep an eye on the engine's vitals. You can tell there was a lot of thought that went into the appearance of this interior. It's the details such as the included boot cover for when the power top is down, and how the AM/FM/Cassette player fits neatly into the dash slot and powers Pioneer speakers in the cabin. Oldsmobile people know that a Rocket 350 cubic inch motor is something very special, and this numbers matching unit is no exception. Olds manufactured their own V8 engines during this era, and they shared no major components with the Chevy version. Thanks to its higher nickel content in the iron block, the motor has proven to be virtually indestructible out in the real world. Thanks to long-tube headers that feed factory-style mufflers, it has a distinctive sound all its own, a sophisticated rumble that's perfect for this ragtop's luxury/muscle dual nature. It's nicely presented with a chrome air cleaner and matching valve covers, and an Edelbrock 650CFM 4-barrel that quickly snaps it into immediate attention. Records show that this Cutty has been regularly and recently maintained, and in fact, this one is a more-than-capable driver thanks to features such as power steering, power front disc brakes, and a quick shifting 4-speed manual transmission. So as much as you might want to take this Cutlass to a car show, it has all the right features for an all-day Sunday drive as well. The look is finished off perfectly with a set of color-matched Rally II wheels wrapped in 225/70/14 Goodyear Eagle white-letter radials. This is the convertible that fits in everywhere, and has the right features to be comfortably driven anywhere. It only gets better when you look at the competitive price. Call now!!
