Here's a nicely appointed drop top vintage muscle car that's all about fun times and smile inducing driving. Along with the substantial displacement it's packing under the hood, this 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SX convertible also proudly wears its original colors both inside and out for just the right authentic vintage appearance. That eye-catching code 62 Bittersweet shade draped over the exterior has a definite custom look to it, but it's actually the same color is... came in from the factory. The seldom seen shade is contrasted with sharp black stripes that run the lengths of its sides while smoothly passing over the front and rear wheel wells. From all appearances, the exterior is in strong form already - the paint has a nice shine and smooth texture to it and the chrome bumpers both fore and aft look solid and straight - and a session with your local detailer will take things to an even higher level. When weather conditions call for it, there's a power black convertible top on hand to raise into place for protection, and it sports a glass window so it's far more resistant to the ravages of the sun than its plastic counterparts. Inside the doors sits a nicely appointed interior in its proper Sienna color that's retained its factory appearance, with a split bench seat in front and a bench seat in back that are looking nice and well padded. The dash area has been thoroughly restored and really presents well - the woodgrain accents appear to have been recently installed, or exceptionally well-protected, it's free of the evidence of UV damage you so often encounter with convertibles, and the pad running across its top shows no splits or warpage. The aftermarket AM/FM/cassette stereo positioned at its center also functions just as intended. As far overall size is concerned, this Cutlass really strikes a nice balance - it's compact enough to convey an athletic, agile appearance but still carries plenty of space inside. Climb in and you'll find lots of shoulder room on hand and your backseat passengers will have no trouble getting comfortable. This sharp looking Olds is a factory air car but the compressor has since seized and will need servicing to get back online. The space inside the trunk is substantial and you'll still find the original jack on board. Owing to its special SX status, this Olds carries a sizable 455 cubic inch V8 under its hood that teams with a rock solid 3-speed automatic TH400 transmission. It was the big block member of Olds' Rocket Engine offerings when it came out and it still wears the properly badged black air cleaner that offers a nice contrast to the blue of its block and valve covers as evidence. It sits in a clean and tidy engine compartment - that badging on its air cleaner is clear as day and there's no grime buildup anywhere inside. Featured power brakes that position discs up front make for low-effort, fade-resistant stops, while power steering is just another benefit that makes this Olds a lot of fun to drive. It cuts a very appealing appearance as it rolls on its set of 14" stock Oldsmobile wheels painted to match the exterior and equipped with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. This 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SX convertible is a solid driving, endlessly appealing vintage drop top. Call today.
