This one owner 1959 Olds 98 was purchased from the original owners son. The tick over 80,000 miles on the odometer were, according to the owners son put on from family trips during his youth from Michigan to Florida. The car has had all the brakes gone through from the Treadle Vac master and booster to every wheel cylinder, new brake and fuellines from front to back, plus the carb was just rebuilt by the quad shop. The engine has been given a full tune up with all the fluids changed. The underside has been undercoated along with the engine bay fully detailed. The car received a onetime full paint in 1980. The paint quality is not absolutely perfect but retains a very nice shine and is presentable for any car show or cruise in. The door gaps and panel fitment have a clean and uniform appearance. The doors shut with the precision and solidity of a 10ton bank vault much like the other 50’s GM cars. The chrome is not perfect but is respectable (see close ups of the rear bumper and front turn signal housings). The glass including the rear wrap around window are all in great shape and not delaminating. This “Flat Top” body design was only produced during the 1959 and 1960 model years. Most people don’t realize the windshield on these pillarless 4 door holiday coupes is the same as a 2dr coupe. Giving these cars a factory chop top appearance. Don’t miss your chance to own this one owner factory custom Flat Top. These cars are getting harder and harder to find each passing “Flat Top Friday”.
