1933 Oldsmobile Business Coupe Streetrod Additional Info:
Who would have thought an Oldsmobile would be part of the "dare to be different" school of thought? But that's exactly what this gorgeous 1933 Olds 3-window coupe is: a fresh take on a familiar theme. If you like to stand out without getting too weird, this is a great place to start. Given the relative rarity of any '33 Oldsmobile, this one sure came together nicely. All the usual tricks are there, plus a few maybe you haven't seen before, and it's doubly cool simply because none of it was able to be ordered from a catalog like you can with a Ford. Custom grille insert? No need, this one is already cooler than anything you can buy. Smooth hood? Forget it, the slick louvers are better than what you had in mind anyway. Shaved bumpers and smooth running boards? No need, this one is elegant while being sporty. The bright red paint looks quite good on the all-steel bodywork, and thanks to a minimum of customizations and no goofy graphics, it'll look good forever. It's an older build, so there are signs of use and age, but this is the kind of car that makes everyone do a double-take at the big shows. Check out the beautiful shape of the front fenders, the fantastic hood ornament, and elevated taillights on the super clean rear end. Someone invested an awful lot of time making this car look this good, and they did it the hard way by choosing something that isn't a Ford or Chevy. The completely custom interior is a bright surprise, featuring gorgeous tan leather, a pair of deeply sculpted bucket seats, and a custom dash. The tan leather looks expensive against the red bodywork and the combination actually works extremely well, counteracting the dazzling exterior with an upscale and elegant interior that offers all the modern conveniences. A/C, a tilt column, and a power AM/FM/cassette stereo system are all part of the deal, and it is all packaged so neatly that it seems almost OEM. Just check out the French seam on the top of the dash! An array of gauges from Classic Instruments are arrayed across the leather-covered dash and glow with a softness that looks directly lifted from the '30s. Everything remains in excellent condition thanks to meticulous care, and yes, that's a 4-speed manual shifter right in the middle of it all. Cool, right? There's also a big, usable trunk with a custom access panel for secure storage. Power comes from a great-running 327 cubic inch Chevy V8. Judging from the engine bay, someone spent a lot of money on the chassis of this car, and the careful planning and expert workmanship shows in the details. The engine, of course, runs beautifully with a great hot rod rumble from the custom dual exhaust system, and there's a Winters aluminum intake, Edelbrock carburetor, and HEI ignition system to light it up. Extensively modified, the frame now offers a Mustang II independent suspension up front and an independent rear end from a Corvette, and you'll be impressed by the way this vintage coupe handles. It also has 4-wheel disc brakes and rack-and-pinion steering, so the Corvette analogy isn't a bad one. Thanks to some careful measuring, it also sits just right with a classic hot rod rake and a set of Centerline aluminum wheels and 215/65/15 front and 255/40/15 rear radials that truly stuff the big wheel wells. Unusual and nicely finished, this '33 Olds is the rod for the guy who loves the '30s but is looking for something just a little different. Call today!
